Payment processors should refuse to do business with Twitch as long as Twitch allows anti-sematic behavior to be on their platform. Right? Being connected to such a platform could be hurtful to their Brand.

So I guess the current drama is Twitch really cracked down on view bots and the "popular" streamers all got killed, like Asmon lost 20k viewers and the FaZe dudes etc. Literal gaming god Moonmoon or Forsen or like Soda didnt lose any at all interestingly enough. Anyways the viewers dropping was happening in real time, it woulda been quite funny to see.

Except Asmon dual streams now and gets 10-20k viewers on Kick. Which is likely where a large part of that number is.

Asmon had a big diatribe back when the whole "view botting" thing got discovered/became widely discussed. At the core of his argument was the observation that Twitch, as a platform, was making little to no meaningful effort to address or curtail the practice. It's not really a surprise he'd resort to it as well.

It's shocking that a platform that sells ad space based on viewership didn't reign in bots.

Almost as shocking as how that same platform didn't crack down on embedding until they're was major backlash from creators on the platform against it.

It's bots all the way down. For example, I'm pretty sure there is only one real life dude who posts on this forum. Everyone else posting here is just a bot.

At the higher end many people like Asmon are BEING viewbotted rather than viewbotting themselves. Whether its fans, orgs, agencies, or viewbotters testing their tech.

Viewbots mostly don't effect ad revenue because Twitch USUALLY has a way to detect them and they don't count as real viewers. That's one of the reasons they've been slow to attack this issue, because it really only effects the ranking of streamers within a category. That is why the people abusing it are usually in the lower to middle position within a category. In some games going from 5 viewers to 75 can make you top dog.

Source: i've been viewbotted twice. Once with a raid if 1200 people and once randomly with like 60 viewbots. The latter was during the beta of a game that wasn't very advertised and I suspect the company paid 50 bucks or whatever to inflate the viewer number for the game.

Neither time did Twitch statistics and ad revenue show these numbers. Whether they just flagged bot accounts and let them run or had some better detection, the viewbots didn't effect the bottom line.

Yeah, I'm at the point where there's only one stream I pay any attention to on Twitch, and it's because they do marble races which I they can't do on Twitter and Youtube, both of which they also stream their livestreams on. Then again they aren't even gaming content. They're just some guys who have been on local radio in DFW who have a "shoot the shit" stream every Tuesday and Thursday nights.
