One way or another, Ubisoft as we know it is dead.
www.forbes.com
With the known and utter complete failure of Assassin's Creed Shadows now firmly planted into the ground, I try to look back fondly at when Ubisoft actually DID at one point produce amazing titles before the DEI/Woke infestation and the industry falling down completely on its' ass due to those specific reasons (And others) at a Macroeconomic level. All while China, who started and funded this Psyop 3 decades ago to dismantle American values comes in to purchase these companies which produce normal games. (We all see this - fairly common sense at this point)
But before all this, Ubisoft created some really good games with some fond memories. So I figured why not write a huge too many words post and a trip down memory lane for some or all of us.
1) Original Ghost Recon - 2001 - Developed by Red Storm Entertainment published by Ubisoft.

I have very fond memories playing this in multiplayer on the original Xbox. A fantastic military shooter with good depth and strategy. Team based roles and just a lot of fun back in the day.
2) Splinter Cell Series up to Chaos Theory.
en.wikipedia.org
The original was absolutely fantastic. Once again I played this on the original Xbox with some of the best lighting seen to date with a very strong story line and a strong cast of voice actors. This game really shined though when Ubisoft took risks and took a risk on Cat and Mouse Spy Vs Merc 2x2 multiplayer which launched with Pandora Tomorrow. This was some of the most engaging and fun multiplayer gameplay I had ever experienced. With mercs getting abilities to counter spy abilities and vice versa - from not being able to speak to the opposing team, and I still remember fondly when I would put a merc in a choke hold, and at that specific point you could press the white button on your Xbox controller and taunt the merc before breaking their neck.
We had a group of 4 that played this religiously. IN addition, the map design to support this style of gameplay was excellent. This continued in Chaos Theory.
3) Beyond Good and Evil.
en.wikipedia.org
It may surprise some folks that gamers never, ever, cared about what color a main character was, or if they were male or female or this fabricated bullshit we have to listen to today. People wanted a good story and a well written protagonist. The demise of Ubisoft was invented and infiltrated by mentally ill morons that should have been placated a long time ago. With that said, Jade was one of the most fun female characters I have ever played (Recently Stellar Blade and Nier come to mind for strong female leads). The story was unique and well written, the puzzles and gameplay were fun and hilarious, and the side characters were some of the best written support cast ever seen in a video game.
4) Silent Hunter III
en.wikipedia.org
At one point I was really into sub games. I had played Silent Service 1 and 2 and 688 attack sub from Microprose, but Silent Hunter III was the top of the top in terms of WW2 submarine naval gameplay. From the realism to the logging of tonnage and mission structure.
5) Far Cry 3
en.wikipedia.org
Goes without saying that this is the game that really put Farcry into the mainstream and for good reason. A very solid story, fun open world gameplay mechanics (That unfortunately only grew and never changed later as Ubisoft slowly disintegrated) but a very well written antagonist that is still remembered today, strong coop, and multiple and fun gameplay options within the world to make it feel alive. From Crafting, to poker, to various vehicles and weapons and flight.
6) Assassin's Creed 2
en.wikipedia.org
This one goes without saying as it is pretty much tied depending on subjective opinion to Black Flag.
7) Assassin's Creed: Black Flag
en.wikipedia.org
Introducing forts, pirate ship battles/ship boarding, and a solid story. Was the last game we would see leveraging the old play style before Origins came along with forced leveling zones in where XP was actually balanced, then nerfed to entice players to purchase 50% XP permanent gains for their characters to play normally through an MTX shop without blowing their brains out of boredom. Hailed as one of the most unique games in the series and was just a lot of fun.
When we look at the post mortem of this company - how the DEI/Woke infestation slowly crept in and then quickly expanded to destroy this company with forced narratives and political activism, it is important to remember when this wasn't the case and compare and contrast a very stark reality in this industry. Not only with Ubisoft, but with every other game company this is happening to at this very moment at the same accelerated pace Ubisoft has just reached the crash of.
All we can do is continue not to support this practice, continue to vote with our wallets, while supporting the companies where this philosophy does not exist.
The tides have turned. And the return to normalcy is starting to take root all around us.

Ubisoft Shares Surge 31% As Tencent And Guillemot Family Reportedly Mull Buyout
The French video game firm’s stock fell to a decade-low after delaying the latest entry in its popular Assassin’s Creed series.
