Since they all are on Netflix I have been trying to watch the pre- Goldeneye era as I watched all those as they came out etc

Timothy Dalton gets a bad wrap , his 2 were no worse than some Moore stuff and was kind of a bridge back from the more silly to the more /serious/but flippant and over the top of the Brosnan era till super cereal with casino and Craig

When I was a kid, Moore was Bond. Thought he was suave and a bad ass. Grown up rewatching them , man was he too damn old. I'd be down for this IF they don't go all DEI on the new Bond. It being Amazon I cringe at the blue haired monstrosity they will likely cast.

Denis V? I'll give it a go. The man knows how to make cinema if nothing else, and he never had a history of shitting on sources, so I'm sure he'll do a faithful bond.

Why wouldn't they go with the current 007?

The fact people are excited for this blows me away. Do you not remember what these people did to LOTR? Come on, guys...

Especially now that Amazon took full control of creative. The original producers who held a portion of the film rights were removed from any future Bond movies.

This one is all Amazon "nu-MGM" slop.

Denis Villeneuve should have passed on it-- the same way JJ Abrams should have passed on Ep 7 and 9.

Like with Disney, the paycheck is just too damn good at Amazon. They can't turn down money. And that's what attaching himself to this project is. It's about money. Because we know the real Denis Villeneuve prefers a hell of a lot more creative control than Amazon will give him.

I think people are cautiously optimistic because:

From the start they abandoned the black chick even w/ Idris - and then abandoned that (reasons debated)

So that indicates they “know’ where the Craig era ended was NOT where “the audience” wants.

It’s been postponed and delayed enough that it should be fully made “now” in a time where DEI ESG is NOT /completely/ en vague

So, there is hope that we will get a more “classic” bond, in the sense of it being /serious/ but fun, sexy woman for bond to “gain vital info” from and nude shadow women intro music video.

Also, finished A View to a kill - I think that intro music was one that I heard not knowing it was a bond intro (go 80s!) - and holy BARF moneypenny in that one WOOF…like the most “British” woman they could find.

We saw what he did with dune.
I'm willing to give him a chance because Dune was enjoyable, and so was bladerunner 2049. Hopefully he can keep amazon "make it retarded and gay" influence to a minimum.

They are absolutely going to bait and switch all of you homers. It is going to be a white guy and the trailers are going to make him look badass, but then the shows is going to be him deferring to women and trying to get his toxic masculinity under control. All of this is going to be set to a story where the villain is a milquetoast white guy that just wants his country back except that he will be, paradoxically, both a fucking racist retard but also a devious misogynist.
