Jennifer Salke and Vernon Sanders were let go. Salke ran Amazon MGM studios and Sanders worked for her as head of TV. Salke is directly responsible for most of the horrible decisions regarded DEI etc in their media products. The Bond situation was a major part of her firing.

A December 2024 meeting between Broccoli and Salke, in which Salke referred to Bond films as “content,” was described by Broccoli as a “death knell”.

After that idiocy by Salke and other stupidity, Bezos got involved and paid a billion for the rest of Bond's rights. Then fired Salke. Sanders was let go 6 months later.

Does that mean Amazon won't fuck up Bond anyway? Nope. But with those 2 out there is at least a chance this will be good. I'm hopeful, but not optimistic. There are still a ton of woke, blue haired morons at Amazon.

Had more to do with Rings of Power's commercial failure, as that project was personal to Bezos.

Jennifer Salke replaced Roy Price as the head of Amazon Studios in February 2018. Price resigned following sexual misconduct allegations

She was hired off the back of MeToo peak movement in 2018 where it was more fashionable to overlook qualifications.

Only women were considered for the position.

The main purpose was to separate films from TV. Salke came from a TV background, so that's an additional factor.

She fucked up a lot. But the Bond fuck up was a huge fucking issue and she was let go almost immediately after Bezos had to pony up another billion for the rights. LOTRO is a disappointment but Bezos never made them change course, or even got involved. It took her fuck up with Bond to get him away from the parties on the yacht.

The corporate double speak is what they always do when they let someone go.

I think Dinklage could probably rock as Q. If you're going to stick with a female M shift over to Helen Mirren.

And yeah, a mini series with other double 0's getting killed leading them to reach for a new, younger, savvier replacement for the previous 007 (who was killed prior to the series as the first 00 murdered). Promoting a field agent... Agent 049 after he solves it.

It's okay to piss a billion away on a shit film but to piss a billion away with nothing to show for it? That's unforgivable.
