Company that makes walking simulators is called into pick up the pieces of a failed RPG... and turns it into a walking simulator with a laughably bad looking combat system. I am shocked!
Also shocked (this time without the sarcasm) at them taking "cash grab" to a level that even Ubisoft would find shameful. $90 to get the complete game with all the clan options is just insane. The only upside here is that they showed the GOG logo on the trailer so that means no Denuvo on PC, so at least it will be easily accessible to make fun of.
Two out of six clans are relegated to the DLC? No Malkavians or Nosferatu at all? Get fucked.
Nothing says "we have a room full of fucking incompetent writers that cannot walk and chew gum at the same time," as leaving out the two clans whose stories and gameplay would have to be way more than a few more dialogue options and voice lines.
"We have to create ALTERNATE pathways for one and the other ruins our genius level villain who lies because they can READ MINDS? Pass on that shit"
Nosferatu I can kind of understand dropping. It just doesn't make sense for one of them to be doing the shit that the main characters in these games are doing. Having to put a Nosferatu-safe path into every quest in VtMB must have been a colossal waste of dev time for the five people who actually cared about playing one.
If Troika wasn't on a shoestring budget and constantly held back by Valve fucking them over with access to up to date Source builds after the big leak, Activision looking over their shoulders, etc. I'd probably agree. I've played through VtMB as every clan at least once though, and Nosferatu is just a damn slog from start to end with all the stuff you have to do to avoid masquerade violations. Maybe they could have actually finished Act IV with all the wasted time spent on it.I have never played Nosferatu in VtMB; however, I want to play it more and it is more memorable because it exists. If they are willing to go that far for the world, then it is a world that feels more real. VtMB is a better game because the Nosferatu path is in it.
