Headed to Vienna for a few days in August. Mostly looking for excellent food/drinks, architecture, history, and novel experiences. Considering popping over to Salzburg as well.

Anyone have experience here that they can share?

I lived there for about 6 months. Great city, but do a search, there is already a thread with tons of stuff I believe.

Enjoy the migrants. I left once it got bad.

I visited Munich last summer for the first time since the late 2000's - it was like I was on a different planet. It seemed like there were more immigrants than actual Germans in most public areas - sad, really. I'm also visiting Budapest and am worried about immigrants there as well.

I did searches for Austria and Vienna and also browsed about 10 pages of the travel forum and came up with nothing. Maybe it was a FoH thread.

I think the fact that I've never heard of Vienna referred to as Wien reflects the shameful amount of research I've done. Thanks.

Also make sure you pronounce it "Veen" and not "Wine" or you'll sound more like an idiot.
