So my son wants a VR set and wouldn't mind messing around with one also. I've been avoiding purchasing one for me since VR hasn't really taken off. With Christmas approaching and now my son wanting one, I figured it wouldn't be a bad time to purchase. What are the recommendations? Quest 3s?
I would have bought a PSVR2 awhile back but I find the price for it insane and PS hasn't been on the right track as of late.

So, skip the 3S and get the 3? Do you think the resolution and pancake lens are worth the extra $200? Thinking about it now, when you factor in the Quest 3 price drop and it's now the 512 GB model and the 3S starts at $299 for 128GB it makes more sense.

They were last I tried there was a message about turning off the Ubisoft stuff so it wouldn’t work…
But i have not tried to see what it would do recently.

Does anyone have a recommendation that similar to the linked charging dock? I want that one but it's been sold out for months and I'm tired of waiting on it. Anyone use something similar that can wirelessly charge the headset and controllers?

I picked up a Pimax Crystal Light to check out Sim Racing with and I can tell you this is an absolute game changer and might be the best use case I've found for the device for the time being.
Playing AMS2 with everything maxed out is just incredible. I can read the tilt/camber of the track which I was not able to see at all on a monitor. I get so lost in the experience with audiophile headphones that I sometimes forget I'm not actually there. It also gives the fear factor of crashing which was missing from a traditional setup when you fly up on a car.
I think we are about 1 generation of headsets and maybe 2 generations of video cards away from things looking so nice that we won't be able to tell the difference.

Out of curiosity what headphonesHekotat ?
Currently running the following.
Headphones: Sennheiser Drop PC38x
Amp: Schiit Gunnr
EQ: EQ APO with the Peace plugin (This is the main game changer) - They have built in like 3k headphones worth of EQ settings ready to go out of the box. Highly recommend regardless of what headphones you have.
EDIT: I have some HD58X Jubilee but I use those for music or singleplayer games.
