Welp, I wanted to do another run through with this new exp pack but now im hearing there is a huge 1.5 patch coming up this fall that basically redoes all the balance so the game is not faceroll easy. So I guess im waiting for that to hit now, lol. I was just about to fire this up this weekend too.

Started it when it first came out, but something else came up, so shelved it. Then DLC that was incorporated into the game was announced, waited for that, then a supposed patch, waited for that, then new dlc with added stuff, waited for that. Then this 1.5.... might as well wait for that too, but wouldn't be surprised if that turns into a "oops, we overtuned the balance a bit too much the other way, fix in 1.6 coming around winter!"

Rolled credits, fucking finally. Long ass game is long. Was gonna roll a new character but saw two more DLCs are coming with the season 2 pass so gonna wait.

The second to last bolter you get is insane on argenta, the aoe explosions on top of the burst fire damage I damn near killed the boss in a single round.

yeah, I've talked about the dlc, patch, preorder problem here, and in Owlcats forums..

Owlcat themselves have talked about the things they learned from WotR''s dlc. wh ich sold, which reviewed well, etc. and sadly, its alot of the wrong lessons as far as I can tell.
this is even extended with the great reviews of Void shadows. which is blends into the core game so well. cool!

except.. why would want to buy the game at release? why would I preorder? patches and core DLC both dramatically favor me NOT buying your game for 1-2 years, until its finally finished, and I get experience the whole game. every timey ou announce a DLC, every time you announce an upcoming patch. "I guess I'll wait, and I'll tell all my friends to wait a bit longer"

sales obviously also play into this as well. there is zero incentive for me as a consumer.
this is REALLY bad for the developer.

its a real shame WotR's dlc through the ashes, and lord of nothing did so poorly. as those Side campaigns unaffiliated with the core campaign,, are 100% the correct way to do dlc.
they really need to go back to old school, expac style dlc. where they added new campaigns, that came with new classes, etc, but didn't directly make the main campaign incomplete without them.

I do suspect this is exactly what Dark Heresy is. its almost certainly just RT engine, etc, with minor asset upgrades.
