How would you even know if corvus or alpharious is in play? You'd never see them

All of them are, because money
Perturabo, then Russ, then maybe Khan if they do the 11th edition bike and speeder refresh, then Dorn, Vulkan, Corax, and last Lorgar. Alpharius is already doing something and can't be bothered to return until he needs to get killed to be Snape.

Octarius terrain has returned to competitive Kill Team today.

They are really committing to Armageddon.

I think I should probably start building.

And stop putting things in the basement and forgetting about them a couple boxes at a time.

Nice, was almost thinking it was a new show or a game. Damnit, now I want to buy miniatures.

Has anyone tried Wrath & Glory or Imperium Maledictum? I'm looking at other ttrpgs to try after my 5e campaign ends. My players are open to whatever.

my crew extensively played every edition of dark heresy > rogue trader > ddeath watch > black crusade > only war > dark heresy 2. and then we got malidictum.

Malidictum is the same 'sort' of game as dark heresy, but it seems to plan to expand into a more general 40k aproach. you serve a patron, which is nominally the inquisition in Dark heresy, but you could serve any other thing including xenos or chaos or whatever and run a game like that. currently there are only GM/player books for inquisition and mechanicus.

Ruleswise it is an improvement over the olde DH systems in terms of game speed, but it does some baffling 'simplifiations' that detract from some of the themes of 40k. like....the book won't give weapon ranges in teh weapon profile "long" "short" etc. but no number. you hhav to hunt up and down the book to find what they mean by long range.

they kind of presume by default that you'll use 'zone' based areas in a generic storytelling way "near" "long" etc. more agregiously, it doesn't want to track ammo by default. a full auto weapon can just fire single shot, forever, and it tells you how many full auto bursts the gun can take till an action requires a reload and doens't worry with ammo count. it works for fast in-the-moment gameplay, but it removes resources as a concern. that sort of thing makes more sense in rogue trader than only-war or dark heresy.

so naturally like a big ol sperg i am, i spreadsheeted the guns with actual ammo counts. and ranges

some of the talents are written weird and needed clarification/homeruling to make less absurd.

the books themselves are horrificly laid out. if yyo want to know how to do medical things you have to flip between like 4 sections of the book.

but overall? i think it's pretty great. it has smooth mechanics that allow characters to be unique snow flakes, but also the systems allow you to murder players in gorey ways. psychics is MUCH BETTER in this edition vs the entire last generation of books.
