Isnt this the same studio that is managing the finely tuned, massively successful DC Comics Movie Universe?

Mark it down

first Movie about Young Aaragorn living in exile with a made up enemy

Second Movie about a Young Gandalf against a made up enemy

Then a two part Last Aliance of Men film. All projects flop so bad they cancel any other projects
*you left out the part where Young Gandalf is a flamboyant, prancing gay

Maybe . . . just Maybe, this could be a good thing.

But it probably will be a steaming turd.

#1 Beren & Luthien with prologue going into the mythology. Sets up Morgoth and first minor victories against him.

#2 Turin and #3 Tuor filmed back to back and released close together. Fall of the Elf Kingdoms.

#4 Earendil. Final battles against Morgoth.

#5 Fall of Numenor and Last Alliance (fuck you Amazon). Rise of Sauron.

Anything else will be stupid made up bullshit.

As funny as that would be, I'm not sure Saul Zaentz ever got his hands on those movie rights in the first place which means Embracer Group doesn't have them to license to WB.

Agreed that this would be amazing if it were a 3-5 part Silmarillion movie series, especially made by the LOTR trilogy people. I'd also like to see lots of Morgoth's rise and fall since the movies haven't touched on that.

Don't want to see any side-quels with Young Aragorn in exile (being chased by a Proud Black Huntress who turns out to be "good" after killing a bunch of innocent people) or any useless things like that, which means we're probably getting just that.

I can't find the Rings of Power thread for some reason, is that show worth watching? I know it's widely disliked, but at least the main actress is pretty hot, and as a Tolkien fan since age 5 I'm sure I can find things to like. Though I do question why they're parroting scenes from Schindler's List:

WTF?

The story is at the end of the Silmarillion I think? So would be with Silmarillion rights.

Amazon have the rights to the shorter version in the Lord of the Rings appendices.

I have no idea if Warner Brothers have Silmarillion rights though.

If you're an actual Tolkien fan, you're more likely to find things to be insulted/outraged by.

I have a feeling that's much more likely to be the case, particularly with Galadriel acting like a self-insert modern lunatic rather than, well, Galadriel.

If this is a remake of the trilogy it will be a turd. The trilogy holds up amazingly and doesn't need to be redone.

It was lightning in a bottle that the director of Dead Alive would make a film series so memorable and important to the cinematic zeitgeist.

They’ll spend all the money in the world trying to recreate that forever until the end of society.
