Do some of the habits you are trying to get rid of include coffee, chew, and weed? Because that is probably going a long way towards lowering your attention span. And probably fucking up your head a bit as well. A good friend of mine smoked weed for decades, and eventually he started thinking a lot of similar things (although in a completely different field). To the point where his wife and kids were worried and begged him to stop smoking weed. Slowly he did, and when he was done he wondered wtf he had been talking about all that time he was in the weed fog.

I'm not saying weed always causes this sort of thing, or that everyone will develop weird thoughts on weed, but it seems obvious that it *could*, so maybe give that a shot first and see how it goes? Maybe you'll still feel spiritual without all the chemicals raging through your brain, but it would probably be best to figure out if that is affecting it or not before proceeding any further.

Just my opinions, obviously. And I know you won't listen to anything I say because of the UFO thread, but at least I tried.
What about my first post in this thread do you think are weird thoughts or disagree with that might be a result of my over-indulging in devils lettuce?

Nothing at all about your first post, except for your reference to the other things you have started believing in, that you post elsewhere.

If you had never posted a thing prior to this, I would still make the suggestion to cut out or at least tone down the chemicals because of my experiences with others using them. But taken in a vacuum, nothing about your OP in this thread is "weird."

Since you brought up my other beliefs I will post some of them on this thread to maybe start some productive discussion. I made these around the beginning of February in the UFO thread. Let me know if anyone has any questions about any of it. Usually there is some kind of rhyme or reason for why I have come to believe what I believe. Please keep in mind this is in the Grown Up Forum and act accordingly. I originally typed this in a text to my brother for context. Since February my beliefs have evolved a little but remain largely the same. I've expanded my beliefs in a few areas and how it all ties into major world events but I can get to that later if it comes up.

Everyday I’m more convinced of the deeply spiritual nature of reality. I think Christ is real and I think his message was corrupted like all other religions to promote fear and guilt instead of his extremely simple message of Love.

Jesus was a space hippy bro. If he’s coming back it’s not to destroy humanity but to uplift it to a golden area.

I think reality is a human spiritual growth and learning simulation that uses reincarnation to provide life obstacles to overcome in each lifetime. The conquering of those life obstacles provides our eternal spirits with spiritual growth and learning. Each lifetime we learn new things as you can never learn everything in a single lifetime. I think at the end of each life we have an overview of our life and experience all the pain we inflict on others from their point of view as another tool of learning and growth.

Evil forces took over and manipulated the system to maximize suffering and he’s doing something about it.

I don’t think there was ever intended to be this much human suffering and it turns out it is not as helpful towards human/spiritual growth and development as was originally thought. And now the big man himself is making it right.
Those evil forces were able to control all of humanity by controlling a small amount of people at the top. Think media executives, earthly religious institutions, Smithsonian institute, and government leaders.

Heaven is 100% real, we all met everyone there for a while after each life to rest and recover and plan our next life and the spiritual growth we plan to receive from it.

We are all just tiny fractals of gods infinite consciousness experiencing his unbelievable creation subjectively and growing spirituality. We are all one and we are all divine. Thay is why we must do unto other as we would have them do unto us. There actually are no “others”. That’s what was hidden from us. Through meditation we can communicate directly with the prime mover and our bodies are the only temple we need. Everything I understand about quantum physics makes more sense from a video game design standpoint and anything that could have occurred naturally

Here is another post from the UFO thread. I've been thinking about religion and my issues with it for a long time. I always thought the 10 commandments were a pretty pathetic list so i decided to write a list of 10 rules I would consider to be helpful for a basis of personal spirituality and address the majority of my concerns.

1. We are all just tiny fractals of an infinite creator and consciousness experiencing his creation subjectively and growing spiritually. We are all one and we are all divine. We must do unto other as we would have them do unto us. When you truly become enlightened you realize that their is no such thing as "others"

2. We reject all earthly religions that are based on fear and guilt. Our message is exclusively to Love yourself and each other. We reject concepts such as eternal punishment as impossible. There is no unforgivable sin, even rejecting the Holy Spirit. We are all tiny fractals of an infinite creator , we are all one, we are all divine, we are all forgiven, we are all worthy of and capable of giving Love.

3. Our bodies are the only temple we need. We can communicate directly to our heavenly protectors and infinite creator through meditation and prayer which is then filtered by our own intuition and introspection with the important principles of honesty, integrity and service to others.

4. Self-improvement is a lifelong project with the focus on Loving ourselves and one another. Our ultimate goal here is to overcome the obstacles that we are born with in this lifetime and, in the process of overcoming those obstacles, discover who we are as individuals and provide ourselves and our eternal souls with spiritual grown and learning. Also provide love and support to others no matter where they are in their journey.

5. At no point will there ever be a paid staff, everything is volunteer based. Tithing is never required and never asked for. All donations come strictly from blessed members of their own free will. All donations are taxable to mitigate corruption as much as possible. Render unto Caesars what is Caesars.

6. No one's free will should ever be impinged upon.

7. Our trinity is the The Father, The Mother, and The Son. All of creation is based upon Good and Evil, Light and Dark, Ying and Yang, Male and Female. We believe in the equity of the male and female aspects of the human experience and consider them both to be completely equal and the differences between the two genders are to be equal, necessary, and a celebrated part of the human experience. As tiny fractals of an infinite creator experiencing his creation subjectively, we are all, everyone of us, the Sons of the Mother and Father.

8. There are no dietary rules but because our body is a temple there is a preference toward healthy, less processed food but without any judgement. In general, your body is a temple, treat it as such and you will be rewarded for it.

9. There is no specific holy day. We are all encouraged to give thanks and ask for guidance from our Infinite Creator through daily prayer and meditation with is then filtered by our own intuition and introspection with the important principles of honesty, integrity and service to others.

10. Self forgiveness is a necessary part of accepting yourself and being able to help others. Perfection was never expected by our infinite creator.

To expand on one point a little, I think the main purpose for existing here and what we are meant to learn is to choose Good over evil, Light over dark, and love and compassion over hate, and unity over seperation. This is why evil must exist. The choice to pick Good means absolutely nothing if evil does not exist. That is why I believe in reincarnation, there is no way you can fully mature spiritually in one lifetime. It takes multiple lifetimes from myriad different points of view to learn.

Maybe I should rename this thread to "PSA: How to bang a different hippy chick every night of the week" for a more click-bait-y title.

how we go down a rabbit hole that leads to everyone drinking the Kool-Aid. I'm glad you're getting your thoughts together. Keep praying!
I'm not sure if you've ever looked into this story much, but they didn't drink the Kool-Aid voluntarily. They were locked in a room and held at gun point and told to drink it or be shot to death. It was murder, not suicide.

Here's a solid podcast episode on it by Stuff You Should Know: Cults: Who is this "The Leader?" - Stuff You Should Know | iHeart

For me personally, when I rejected atheism I had to come to terms with the idea that the whole universe was not in fact, contained within my mind
I think the key factor here is materialism, not atheism.

Some of the world's largest religions are atheist: most sects of Buddhism, Theosophy, Jainism, and about half the sects of Hinduism (like Samkhya or Chavraka Hinduism are both atheist but not materialist).

In Samkhya, we believe in a soul, the consciousness of the universe, the cycle of life, death, rebirth, and hell/heaven, etc, just with the absence of a god.

My entire journey was raised Christian, was heavily involved in the church until my mid 20's, left the church and became spiritually apathetic, I wouldn't say I was a materialist, but I didnt believe in a creator god anymore (atheist) and I was just apathetic towards spiritualism in general. Then in my early 30s I did a lot of research on consciousness and NDEs. I read After (2021) by Dr Bruce Greyson (the head of psychiatry from the University of Virginia), and actually moved in directly next to one of nation's top Neurologists, and became convinced that consciousness survives physical death. Did some soul-searching and found I aligned best with Samkhya so here I am. Samkhya is basically buddhism but with the belief in a soul (atman) and animism (that animals have souls). The Buddha start Buddhism from Samkhya.

More of less, just trying to convey that spirituality and atheism are not counter. Spirituality and materialism are.

Unless you want to go to Brazil for a guided ayahuasca vacation, mushrooms are far easier thing to do/acquire by growing them yourself from spores you order online. Then if you like that experience, move on to DMT, since it is supposed to be a more intense hallucinogen.

There is no set experience with psychedelics but proper preparation will make make the trip more enjoyable.

Also, afaik, there is no way to OD on mushrooms or ayahuasca, so they are safe in that regard but both have other side affects.

I think psychedelics are fascinating but I don't plan on taking them at the moment. I've never been on any prescription meds and i've never tried any drugs other than weed. I think they seem like they might be incredibly useful for treating major emotional trauma and PTSD. I also think they have value for people to experience for themselves that we do not live in base reality. I am already convinced of that but there could be some value in actually experiencing it. Maybe at some point ill try some small doses of shrooms but for DMT, LSD, ayahuasca or anything else I'd want to have an experienced guide.

The weed I have smoked just felt like an extremely weak mushroom trip. A low dose of mushrooms seems hardly worth it for a heavy weed smoker.

Prepping for a 2g trip isn't really that difficult. You just need to be mindful of what you do in the roughly 6 to 8 hours previous to taking the dose. It seems like mushrooms pull a lot from short term memory when on the trip. For example, if you watch a lot of TV beforehand, your brain might focus a lot on trippy eyes and faces, since TV/movies have many zoomed in scenes on actor's faces/heads. Also, if you think music on weed is enjoyable, a good mushroom trip takes that aspect of it to 11.

As for DMT, ayahuasca just seems like the "best" way to experience it, even though it causes diarrhea in some/many people and yeah, I don't think I would want to do it solo.

Well guys, there is a big picture that I've been kinda building to that I think is what the fuck is actually going on in the world and why nothing makes sense. The big picture I believe is this, truth is stranger than fiction:

1. We are in the end stages of what many people would considered be the trials of man. For thousands of years we have lived with economic, religious, and political systems designed to be intentionally antagonistic towards man and are used to promote fear and division among humanity. Really, I think this was all part of a divine plan to test humanity so have no fear! How did they do it?

2. I believe controlled was maintained by a group of occult-practicing elite through this period of the trials of man. I believe that this group hid alot of the rules and concepts of this reality so that we would not be able to figure it out and learn how to combat it. How does it work?

3. I believe that humanity has a global consciousness. The more war torn, divisive and hate filled humans are the more our global consciousness goes down and the easier it becomes for demons and other negative NHI to manifest in our reality. Also, it becomes much easier for the elite occultists to communicate and get guidance from these entities. Alternatively, the more global consciousness increases with increased Love, unity, and compassion the easier it becomes for use to interact with the Angels and Positive NHI and recieve wisdom and guidence from them. This made it it very important for this group of elite occultists to maintain a low global consciousness. We have been mostly cut off from God and the angels for millennia because of this. I think alot of the UFO phenomenon are the negative entities that have lied to us, and our goverment has lied to us, and told us they were extra-terrestrials, when in fact theyve been angels and demons the entire time. This is the point of all the occult and satanic symbolism in the media, its meant to inject as much of that filth into the global consciousness as possible. How did they do it?

4. They used the greed of man against them. By having control it was very easy for them to start wars by leveraging the greed of man for profit. When global consciousness starts to rise, major famines, plagues, and wars break out to spawn all different types of political and social turmoil. I think they might have also covered up the divine feminine aspect of divinity. We been raised spiritually with the equivalent of a single father family. How do we fight back?

5. The most important part is realizing the rules of the games and choosing to not fall for their manipulations. Choose Love over Hate. Unity over Division. The age of the trials of men is ending. It's time to make a choice.

So anyways, that's what i think the big picture is and why I wont go away with this stuff and why i think its important to set aside denominational differences and work together for the good of all. I think its way too important that we learn the rules of the game now and that all the good people in all the earths major religions can see whats happened and how to unite to fix it. I really don't think God cares if Jesus, Buddha, or Krishna is the messenger, only that the result is love, compassion, and unity.

Delusions of a pot smoking atheist or just something that it took a pot smoking atheist to see? As with everything, you decide.
