once saw a guy on tv talk about his house getting washed away. in the middle of the night, he didn't know what woke him up, but went to get up out of bed and stepped into a foot of water. by the time he got out of the house it was waist deep.

That's pretty nuts.

The first time we went camping at Zion, we were probably 50 feet from the Virgin River and maybe 10 feet above it. The river during the day was barely moving and maybe a foot deep and 4-5 feet across. Tons of rain north of it one day, and we got woken up in the middle of the night telling us we needed to move because of the river. It was so fucking loud, I have no idea how we didn't hear it. Was probably moving 30+ mph and had come over the 10 foot bank that we were camping on top of.

Yeah overnight Kerr county got like 7-10 inches of rain. It's an area that alreaday suffers from flash floods due to the terrain but that's a lot of rain in a short time. The Guadalupe river is raging.

I'm not in Kerrville but looking at radar looks like it is still raining there and a lot of rain there and north of there. Doesn't look good.
