Forecast are always wrong, at least I hope so. Later in the week down to 19 and heavy rain all day. Be a good day to just blow off anything involving a vehicle. Says up to 5" of rain late in the day which is when it's going to 19. I can hear the crack of limbs coming off trees already.

Somone streaming Eve Online the other day from Fairbanks. Special day, -40. -40C is also -40F. Also said he bought a new vehicle with the oil heater that plugs into a wall out. I saw them in town when I was there on parking meters. Got home to find out his new place didn't have an exterior plug.

The chance for snow in Maryland this weekend is already being overhyped by local media, so the wife is in milk-bread-toiletpaper panic mode. "Do we have gas for the generator???" Bitch, they're calling for 3 inches in our area (well north of where the storm is supposedly heading). Gas for the generator ... JFC

current forecast is 4-10" of snow saturday and up to 1/2" of ice on sunday plus mon-thurs could be coldest week in years.

went by walmart, the water aisle was 95% empty, milk 90% gone, about 50% of the bread, but that was just because the 50% of the shelves had their cheap store brand white bread. needed to fill couple propane tanks, 1st place ran out, 2nd place had a 2 hour line. went to the big farm supply store, short line. the assistant manager was doing the refilling as normal guy was on lunch. said it had been non-stop all day. the sold all their propane tanks, all the propane and kerosene heaters and generators. he said they have never sold out of kerosene heaters before.

Many of the models changed Sunday afternoon from snow to wintry mix/ice regardless of temperatures. So hard cutoff line to shovel before adding a glaze on top and it all becomes a giant iceblock Sunday night.

So glad to live in Florida. Although it's going to drop into the upper 20's, so that sucks.
Shit I live in west TN, we dont even have elevation like in middle/east TN =/ Not even snow. Just going to coat everything in ice and make life hell ;(

NGL, I pulled out our generator and did a 2 hour "test run" to make sure it was ready just in case. We're in N. Texas and apparently going to be getting "wintry mix" Friday night, freezing rain/sleet Saturday, then snow Saturday night. I test the generator because anytime anything frozen accumulates in Dallas it seems like there's a 30-40% chance the lovely 1965 power infrastructure in my neighborhood will take some form of a shit on itself and we'll be powerless for a while.

My only real concern is what condition the roads between cities will be like on Monday as I am supposed to make a drive to S. Texas for work.

Someone sent me a meme and I deleted it. Walmart released a statement about the cold weather. Make sure you wear 2 pairs of pajamas when you go to walmart to buy snow supplies.

Always confused me why people buy a shitload of milk for these... There's a big ol' chance of prolonged power outages and you're going to purchase...perishables?

When my grandma was pushing 90 and letting Fox News scare the hell out of her all day she was pretty sure that Obama was going to shut down the power at some point. She bought all of us little stick on battery powered LED lights. I was like, "I don't think society is going to collapse, but if it does, this is our plan?"

You could always stick it outside with the temps going to be in the freezing range. That said, its still retarded.
