It's been fucking retarded windy today. Something like steady 25 mph, with gusts around 45. And yeah, we're going to get down to about 22 with 10ish wind chill. Luckily, sounds like by the end of the week it'll finally be spring.

Same here Saturday. Woke up to the sound of the wind blowing. 35-40mph. The forecast was way off for the day but tonight it's dropping down about like predicted. Can't imagine going to hustle for beads with windchill in the single digits. Imagine reaching to pickup a bead or doubloon and someone step on your finger with it that cold. Yeah fuck that.

Why the fuck is your Mardi Gras parade so early? Around here it's not for another 2 weeks.

They have umpteen actual parades. Each crew has one. The big ones are on or near Mardi Gras. The smaller ones for smaller towns that are family oriented are always earlier. We sure don't get Mardi Gras off here unlike Louisiana does.

Not mine. My sister lives adjacent to Baton Rouge in a parish made by famous for being the home of David Duke at one time. They had their mardi gras ball a week or so ago. Bad timing on the parade. There is one other thing the parish is known for. In college working on forestry degree we toured a commercial nursery and the guy asked us "anyone know what LIvingston Parish , LA is known for?" The "correct" answer is almost all commercial loblolly pine are from the genetic stock there due to being fusiform rust resistent. The "incorrect" answer was "David Duke lived there". Just trying to keep things real.

It did get up to mid 40s today so that is something.

I was like 9 or 10 years old and my mom asked me to shovel the snow off her car. Joke was on her though, her laziness cost her mightily, because I was so young I didn't know any better and used a shovel. You know, like you would to shovel snow. Scratched the shit out of the paint all over.

I guess I should also point out we were poor and only had a metal shovel, not a plastic snow shovel like a rich fucker would.

Good news, winter is over. It was 65 today and forecast for 75 in a few days. I will believe it when I see it. I have an outdooor event to go attend at the end of the month at night. Probably be 20 and light rain.

Has anyone heard the term "freezing fog". Don't recall seeing it before . Apparently just a fog that leaves ice everywhere. We got a black ice warning till tomorrow because of it.

We got that here in DFW the day before the last ice/wet snow/winter mix storm two weeks ago. Also never seen it before.

That ice, where the wet snow drifted and hardened took over a week to melt (in the shade), but now it's 80 today.

Yeah sat out in the sun t oday getting some sun for a while wearing shorts. We got down to single digits a couple of times but no ice or snow. Pretty sure I could hear the grass growing.

58° on the 6th of February in Montana. WTF. I just saw 3 girls in shorts riding their bikes through the Walmart parking lot.
