The other day when I asked about the difference between warnings and watches. Within 40 miles of my parents house they had 4 tornados. I was there and I didn't even know it was raining. Closed a nearby community college. Thousands went without power until yesterday. My parents didn't lose power which they lose it all the time due to all the trees.

You don't see this everday in MS. Now they (I'm there) have a tornado watch until 4pm with a freeze warning. The last week one day it was 85 and the next it was 45. Same thing today. Yesterday high was 85 and supposed to down to freezing later today. Every other day.

Did some quick reading, and basically every article says that spring predictions of El Nino are laughably poor, and you really have to wait until August or September. That basically these are just more "climate models" predicting doom and gloom.

I there a site that seeps track of various weather forecast and ranks them for how accurate they haved been and such? I quit trusting weather forecast years ago. Besides the normnal it didn't mention rain I went fishing (pre internet days) when it was forecast beaultiful day to get outside, fish or whatever. It hailed on us, we were maybe 15 minutes from the station that did the forecast.

Anything more than 3 days out I consider to be for entertainment purposes only.

Location I guess. I've had the NOAA site list the current temp for my zip code off by 30 degrees during the middle of the day, not a storm or anything.

It's all automated now but way back when I was in college there was a weather station on campus and a student had to check on it daily. Easiest job in the world. Walk across campus and back and I know for a fact half the time they wandered around or stopped by the ag pond to watch the girls laying out in bikinis. Ours was right next to the A/C unit of a 4 story dorm. You know there was no heat being given off lol.
