Nah, don't get a Pax. By price from lowest at $100 bucks the Planet of the Vapes One. A bit more at 150 is the Planet of the Vapes Lobo. The most expensive that I would pitch is at about 240 and it is the Arizer Solo 3 v2. I have both the Lobo and Solo 3. It is an investment, but if I would have gotten the Solo 3 first I wouldn't have upgraded. The Solo 3 is the easiest to clean and use imo.
I have also dabbled in the butane version of these like this Dynavap M7xl.
Where you put your flower in the tip and then use a torch lighter to heat the cap and then hit it when you reach the right temp. These are a bit trickier to use, but they hit clean if done right. You can also get an induction heater if you don't want to deal with the fire.

I found edibles to be a completely different high than smoking/vaping - if you like how edibles feel you may not like smoking. For me anyway, smoking/vaping is much more of a head high while edibles are more of a body high, and stronger. Maybe the edibles I got were just crazy strong, I dunno (they're from the darknet).
There's definitely variability with edibles in that sometimes you take the same stuff and it's strong, some days it's less so. I don't take it often but on days I do, I'll take a low dose and see how it feels after an hour, if it's strong I leave it alone, if it feels weak I pop a couple more. The same ones I take 5 of, my wife takes 1 and is knocked the fuck out, so maybe I'm just not that sensitive to THC.

So these gummies are such a crapshoot, think I'm going to end up buying some buds at some point in the next week or two (likely after my actual card comes in). I didn't realize you needed to "prepare" it before smoking though. Would I be okay just finding any smoke shop and buying a grinder, or should I buy something on Amazon or some kind of speciality online headshop? I guess I'll probably get some kind of normal pipe too, because even though a bong is more familiar to me, I don't want to have to find a place to store it.

Go to any smoke shop or Amazon and they will probably have grinders. They are also at crazy ass price points that can range from 10-300 bucks. I have owned a lot of grinders over the years and have settled on a Santa Cruz Shredder that I have had for a few years now. Just stay away from plastic and painted ones. You may also want to look at a dugout/one hitter instead of a pipe.
You just grind up your weed and put it in that compartment. Take the pipe and twist in the flower to fill the tip and light.

I overthink things. Probably why I kind of like it so much, and why it works so well for PTSD. Allows me to finally turn the brain volume down a bit.
With how expensive this shit is, I don't want to waste my money though. So I research. I don't want to even get started on the anxiety I have about picking where to buy this shit (or which strains), because it seems some places are pretty crap. And I don't exactly know what I'm buying. Florida's also apparently had issues with mold and so add another layer.

Not sure if the Florida weed community has a good subreddit. But the one I use for Michigan is very informative when it came to finding places and different strains. It's the only thing I use Reddit for any more.

Ya I figured you being in Florida might have sonething to do with the inconsistent gummies. I'll load up on em whenever I'm in Colorado (once or twice a year) and I haven't ever had that problem,but they've been doing it there for long enough that I guess everything is pretty dialed in.

Well Michigan just slapped a 24% wholesale tax on weed that goes into effect Jan. 1st. Basically making it not worth it for out of state buyers from other legal states.

Now that its legal here in MI I just grew the shit in my backyard last year. 12 plant limit. Got he seeds from some primo home grown shit I was supplied a few years back. But I only got like 6 females to sprout. Got about a LB of some primo good shit. Dried and cured it proper...Maybe not to the caliber of dispensary type shit, but its like one hit and your a goner. So its good enough for free. Well almost free, I had to invest in some horticulture gear. Shit was so EZ too. Just water and keep them fed with organics... the whole fucking block smelled like a skunk factory when they were flowering. Honestly I though neighbors were going to complain, but none did. Bunch of boomers anyway. Prob didnt even think of MJ growing. Just a rise in skunk population, lol.

One of those jars is 14g and I smoke about 2-3 grams a night. Usually that will last me at least a week. I also like variety. I have about 10 strains in rotation ATM. That doesn't mean I have 5 ounces. Probably closer to 2 as I pick through them.
