I just don't care about eating anymore. The medicine makes your mind a bit weird in that regard.Yeah I can't imagine losing weight on vacation. Half the reason I would visit a place is to check out the food there.
I am so curious to experience this first hand. I was formerly morbidly obese and have since channeled by tendencies in to non-destructive behavior. I have a good body composition these days, but the mental space is still 'living between meals'.I just don't care about eating anymore. The medicine makes your mind a bit weird in that regard.
It is tough to explain sufficiently, but the first time it happened I immediately thought wait this is how normal people feel??I am so curious to experience this first hand. I did some fishing around with my GP to see how receptive he would be for a low dose GLP-1 option without much hope. He was more positive than I expected. Mentioned insurance likely wouldn't cover it, but he trusts a compounding pharmacy in town and would be willing to send through that route.
I have never recovered from that portion of being obese (or maybe it is why I became obese in the first place). I want to know what 'normal' hunger cues feel like or at least get closer. I kind of know now through consistent reinforcement and tracking, but the idea that some people push food away and are like 'nah, I'm good' blows my mind.
To me I see this because I've been going to doctor appointments with my brother a lot and spending a lot of time with him, and seriously, like half the conversations he has are about food. Like what he wants to get when we're done with this appointment, this location has better fries than that one, this restaurant changed their formula and it sucks now. Even the (cancer) pills he's having to take, he's talking about some of them are chalky and taste bad, others are okay.It is tough to explain sufficiently, but the first time it happened I immediately thought wait this is how normal people feel??
In my case I felt it immediately on the lowest dose of ozempic as if someone flipped a switch on day 1, and aside from a few rare occasions it had never been switched again. There are.some occasions towards the end of my shot (day 5/6) where I get a little hungry.
I do still get hungry around normal meals and I still fat order (ie my mind still thinks I need to eat everything), but I find at certain point my mind goes nope you're good stop eating. I have NEVER had that in my life before this. I could never stop eating.
Bah the funny thing about that is I definitely was guilty of going to a different fast food location because it was "better". Like the BK across the street is shitty but the one a mile down the road made stuff better. To me I see this because I've been going to doctor appointments with my brother a lot and spending a lot of time with him, and seriously, like half the conversations he has are about food. Like I absolutely just do not give a shit about food, I eat, but I don't look forward to it and it's not an enjoyable activity to me, never has been. When I get hungry I'll make one of the same 5 meals I pretty much always eat.
Different people care about different things, likeBrutulTM saying one of the primary things on vacation is checking out their food. MOST people are like this, so I'm not criticizing. I realize I'm the different one here. But I just don't care about restaurants or food or trying different foods. I can taste the difference but it doesn't bring me joy at all, it's just eating.
Different strokes for different folks. Personally I think being freed from food is a blessing, other people spend a significant portion of their day worrying about what they're going to eat and where to eat and how much its' going to cost, I just go home and make chicken and rice and vegetables.
