This one isn't super original - I've played a variety of games like this - sandboxy top-down space games, mine/salvage/blow shit up to get bigger ships etc.

That being said, something about it just 100% works for me, I've been way too into it recently.

Easy to get into, it is pretty slow paced, so your fantastic twitch dodge skills do nothing - whether this is a positive or negative will vary based on person.

Various skill trees, including one for an autopilot that can do mining/salvaging stuff for you.

Been playing neverwinter nights 2, because I never played it because it didnt seem much of an improvement from its predecessor. And I was right, it feels almost worse than neverwinter nights 1 in terms of writing, characters, gameplay. The AI and mechanics feel clunkier in some ways.

Finished Outer Worlds 1 SCE + DLC x 2. Because it was on sale. Still not getting OW2 bc DLC are not out yet and it's way too expensive for a mediocre sequal. Looking at some other waste of time, I donno, Wizardry proving grounds or some such.

I'm a fan of blobbers and wizardry in general. But that remake didn't do it for me. I can't nail down what the problem is. Maybe wiz 1 is just too old.

I would start at 3, kind of like might and magic series can skip the first 2 and still have a ton of content.

Yeah I think wiz1 is too old. It’s brutal and the mechanics are odd.

Finished Bioshock. Definitely one of those games that is about the journey, choices, and atmosphere. Took me probably 17 hours total. Replayed a few save points to try a few different approaches. Oh. I also got the camera right before leaving for a week on vacation. Forgot about it mostly. Had to go back and kinda catch up some once I was told what it does again by a guy at work.

I can say I was surprised how white knuckle or creepy some of the game was. Fantastic.

I did add it to my wishlist. I’ll pick it up on sale. I somehow missed the puppy killing audio deck was about the main character. Also this has to be one of the best aged games from that era. I played the remastered version
