This is a pretty good list considering I can vividly remember most of what happened on the first episodes of all 3 of these shows. Yeah BSG and Lost kinda went off the rails a bit later, but damn those were some memorable 1st episodes. Rome and Deadwood are superior quality shows overall to Lost and BSG, but I honestly don't remember what happened on their 1st episodes.

As a non book reader, the first 10mins (and of course the entire episode) of AGoT was the best. Boardwalk Empire iirc had a really good first episode too, pretty much sold me as the #2 show to watch for the year. Never seen more than 2 episodes of Breaking Bad, but from what my friends say its an amazing show. Caught the very first episode and maybe 2 others of Walking Dead, yeah imo that show isnt very good at all. And I guess this past Sunday was their Season Finale? All I read was complaints about it on FB.
