The front of my Model S has been hit 3 times.
The first was when they patched the Summon feature to be way more aggressive. I still only use it in empty parking lots late at night, I don't want it to fuck with other people's cars. It looked like it was going between 2 handicap signs, but then veered last minute and absolutely obliterated one of them.
The second was when the daughter backed her car into it. No structural damage, just removed all the paint in one corner. Her car was fine of fucking course.
The third was when I was at a stop light, and a 17 year old girl pulled out too far, then panicked and instantly backed into me, 0 time to react. It's a Tesla so of course I have a video. Good thing too, or she could've said I rear ended her lol (video at bottom)
Her dad was super cool, and was already clearly paying too much in insurance and offered to pay cash. It took a few months waiting on parts, and was drivable, but I got my car back yesterday and holy hell they made it look brand new, and even detailed everything at 0 cost to me. Looks like a brand new car.

Kinda scary. Been teaching part time remotely at a tech school that is tied in with a fabricator that I've done work for. It's in LA about 30 minutes from my parents house. It's steel fabrication and I "teach" them how to read the shop drawings I normally draw or someone else draws and they have a guy on hand to help with the fitting. It's a good job if you stick to it and a lot of other jobs use it as a background around the shop. Very very minority area but so so far at least remotely no issues.
I have lots of stories of what not to do the either get you hurt or make the thing you are fitting come out wrong. Lots. Some shops you still see guys moving stuff with the overhead crane and lower it down ontop of their steel toe boot to rotate it around cause it saves 5 seconds.
