What vehicle do you drive?

Went to pick up the kiddos from relatives a few states away and go to a New Years party. 300 miles from home, after supercharging, every alarm known to man shows up on my nav screen. Voltage, air suspension, basically the main battery shit the bed and left me stranded, with a car that wasn't quite 5 years old. It would only go in Park or Neutral.

Apparently, they used Panasonic for batteries in 2020-2021, and it wasn't quite up to specs; very rare I'm told! My life is full of very rare critical fails that are not my fault(well maybe this one is, I did pick the car lol)

Tesla was at least quick to send a flat bed out and drive me to the dealership 90 minutes the other direction. At least it's under warranty, and I know there's a super low chance of that happening, but fuck me if this hasn't shaken my faith in EVs a bit.

The good news is I'm getting a newer better battery, so no more range loss from the last 5 years of ownership. Silver lining!

Is it a DSOM Firehawk? Since that is the best vehicle color ever produced, I might have to go with it, but I'm also a bit biased toward F-Bodies, as I have owned a few in the past as well. It's now a classic car with classic car prices so I guess the $28k shouldn't be surprising. While I haven't been in the market for a while now, I would guess that there should be plenty of aftermarket replacement parts still produced for it.

Driving a classic car is a bit of a lifestyle choice, where you are sacrificing comfort and putting in extra effort to drive a more unique vehicle that you love. It also hurts more when some fucknut runs into it, which is much more likely in the big cities.

I don't know how I feel about the KIAs. I guess they are an acceptable saloon car but they don't do anything for me. While the K5 looks slightly better, it certainly isn't worth paying anything to upgrade to it from what you already have (just based on looks).
Not sure what DSOM is and a quick google didn't help me, but probably not if it's a color, this one is silver.

The k5s look very similar to the fortes so no real change there, but it's not a look that I dislike. Just don't like it as much as f-bodies looks wise.

I'm kind of torn at the moment...

Found a 2002 Firehawk that appears to be in good shape at a decent price. The 98-02 trans am's are my favorite car, they just look so good. 2026 k5 gt also looks pretty good, though, and it has all the fancy modern stuff like remote start/heated seats/can connect my phone for pandora and spotify/etc. and also would probably handle Ohio winters a bit better, but it's just about 40k vs 28k for the Firehawk I'm looking at. And on the 3rd side of the coin, my 2022 forte gt-line is still in pretty good shape (only 19k miles since most of the time I've had it I lived super close to work, now it's like 300-400 miles a week tho) and I only owe like $10.5k on it.

The smart choice would probably be to just stick with my current car but I dunno...
These things were giant pieces of shit. This is a terrible idea. You should get it.

Ah, yeah. After looking around for when the color was introduced, it looks like the Firehawk didn't come in DSOM.

DSOM is Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic, which was introduced in 2001. They ran a bunch of ads with a DSOM Trans Am that year. Dodge also made a similar color and put it on the iconic 2005 Viper Copperhead Edition.

Oh ya, that's a nice color. I have seen a couple of Trans Ams with that color pop up from time to time on autotrader/etc.

I used to hate the yellow and black 2002 anniversary thing they did too, when I was younger, but now I actually like it.
