2025 CTS-V ran 11.4@127 in motor trend, it would have been last in that race but not by a ton, 11.2 to 11.4.
Last is embarrassing ;) When at one point they were the fire breathing dragons of the sedan world. heh Now the CTS V Blackwing is functionally just the evolution of the engine package from my V-sport (3.6l TT), instead of the vette power train which was the traditional hallmark of the V line. (damn CAFE... Thanks Obama....)

That said my lowly 2017 CTS V-sport pulls a slow poke 4.4 0-60 and 12.8 in the quarter mile, but I'm still happy, and have yet to take it past stock in terms of the power train. Top speed on the LBJ Texpress lane will not officially be disclosed at this time as my wife does still read the forums and I don't want the stink eye ;)

That's still faster than average and more than enough for any sort of daily use. Plus, I'm sure you're super comfortable all the time. Magna-ride in those?

Yeah, it's got the magna-ride and multiple mode selection, so I am able to stiffen/loosen the ride on the fly. It's definitely more than any normal daily driver needs, but I thoroughly enjoy the "more".

Don't always have to use it, but having it sure is nice.

Supposed story: Thief tried using a drill to put a hole in the tank, to steal the gas, instead of trying to bypass the anti-syphoning and/or gas tank door lock. Dunno what country, but I've not heard of this before just to get gas:

Yea been an issue in Europe for a long time, they either force the lock or just drill a hole in the tank and drain it. It's rare they they target personal vehicles though, they usually go for trucks parked for night stops where they can get hundreds of liters at once and the tank is easy to get to. Construction and farm equipment is a frequent target too.

Two cars caught my eye this week. Dealer wants 18% OVER sticker for both. They are 2022 cars with 6k and 8k miles respectively. WTF? Not limited production cars either. They're like "this is the market right now" Uh...no its not?

Not designed for siphoning, but rather roll over protection. Works well to prevent siphoning, though.

Yeah, I'm gearing up to get a new set of wheels for the wife. I know what she wants (nice/luxury compact SUV or maybe compact wagon). Searching around, finding the various makes/models which fit. And it's become obvious that people are not just "leasing a car for a year and turning it in so it becomes a CPO". The newest CPO cars I'm seeing of the types she wants are 2020-2021.

When I bought my caddy, it was a CPO I bought in late 2018 and it was a 2017.

Well I figured I would make one more bad financial decision before I hit 50. Just got an allocation for new 2025 M2 build.

Grats, I've driven it and it's a great vehicle. Heavier than previous gen but faster and handles quite well in spite of weight gain. My biggest annoyance with current BMW's is the infotainment and weight - wife has a new X7 and it's comfortable, quiet and quick but good luck changing the a/c!

It looks like BMW is back into the nice looking cars business. Was the last generation of the ugliest grill ever put on a vehicle the shortest generation?

No they aren't. Almost the entire lineup is craptastic still. You want to see good looking Beemers, go here: BMW Preservation & Sales Specialists | EAG
Oh, lol. I get all the BMW model numbers mixed up and have to look them up every time they are brought up. So I only looked up a picture of a 2025 M2 and saw that it looked nice. I remember people saying they kept a few models with the classic-ish style, but I was thinking that was just the Z.

I really didn't like the G87 M2 when it came out a couple years ago. I much preferred the first gen body, but it's kind of grown on me at this point. I dig the flared out rear fenders a lot, though I do not like the front end still. Looks...smooshed. That said, the options for smaller, fun and relatively fast cars WITH a manual continues to shrink. I still don't know what BMW was thinking with the huge grill shit they are doing on other models.

BMW's upcoming neue klasse line will bring a substantial change in design language. First car with that theme will be the new iX3 later this year, followed by a new 3 series. There's very little in the current lineup that appeals to me so it's a welcome change.

These are recent images from BMW so expect the final cars to be pretty close to this.
