Yesterday I bought a 2016 SQ5.

A slight upgrade from mny 270,000 klm Mk5 GTi Wolfsburg Edition.

65,000 miles (110,000 klm) - dead stock, smells new, and goes like a bat out of hell.
Nice little upgrade for 'the work truck'

Curious what a decade old car like that went for? Still kinda want another Gold R, had a 2008. But anything recent VW I worry about issues, hell my 08 had them./

My $146,000 2025 Audi has some very annoying rattles and buzzes that aren’t fixed yet. I’m pretty damn disappointed.

Ditto on my first jag. Funny how many issues there is on even the nicest brands. Funny in a few years I could go see going either way with a common brand commuter car, or rolling the dice again on something upmarket. Miss having something reliable that I also just dont give a fuck and have to fret over.

I’d rather not do that, but around here a nice pickup truck fits that bill. Quite a few options are very well appointed and comfortable. You can just jump in and go and not worry as much.
I’d rather have a 4 door car, but fewer choices these days.

Even then, only 1 choice unless you lease. Big 3 have giant reliability problems right now. Tundra is the only one that won't explode on you 4 miles after delivery. Well, they used to, but Toyota fixed the problem.

Low $20k - I looked for about 4 weeks to get an idea of the market and they were all between $20-30k with that sort of mileage and age.
Also remember, Australia - Cars (Well, everything) is crazy expensive here, I know that a similar car in the USA (Petrol, not diesel) would be low-teens prices - it just is what it is...

I'm not on a million bucks a year, and honestly, with VAG / European cars - msot of the bugs and issues have been fixed by about 85-100,000klm ... great time to grab one at a bargain price :p

Plans are to murder it out a bit, lowered, carplay and tune to delete the EGR and DPF, as well as a teensy bit (100hp) more power....

Normally I’d agree, but I bought the wagon outright because it’s rare and the next generation looks bad and it’s about a 90% chance it’s going to be EV or hybrid, both of which I dislike. I also didn’t want mileage limitations. It’s a good road trip car.

I was referring to trucks. I'd only lease a truck from big 3. Not buy. Too many problems.

Oh, haha. That makes sense too. Yeah, I don't think I'd keep a truck long term, so a lease with no long-term liability is OK.

Looking at the new basic TM3. Does it come with 4 wheels or did they cut cost and make us BYO?

I think the new models got away from the shitty dry clutch. At least in the US

My Mach-e does that. Almost everything that has advanced driving assist has it.

And he is correct about all of those indicators and what they lead to

The gaze tracking system is basically the trade off for these advanced level 2 autonomous systems that have hands free driving. In level 2, the driver has to remain engaged and immediately ready to take back over. It should only yell at you if you have the system engaged, which it appears he does (hard to be 100% sure since he's such a spaz).

Level 3 you can not pay attention (and hypothetically the OEM is 100% liable), so, it shouldn't need that system. The only OEM with a level 3 system on the market in the US is Mercedes and it's super gimped. It probably still has gaze tracking since Level 3 is only unlocked for lower speeds.

I don't necessarily disagree about where it's heading, but literally all that shit he's bitching about in that video is turned on by him.
