Bros we are now at over 4 months since the M2 was ordered and only just a couple weeks ago did my "Order received" updated to "Scheduled for Production". Scheduled for the week of 11/17/25 build. Based on that, the port wait times/delays and then the actual ship transit time, I'm probably looking at January delivery best case. I ordered this thing on August 30th. It's mostly my fault for ordering one of the special order colors, but 6 months still seems long.
I ordered a plain white ford transit, ended up canceling it after 8 months because no VIN or meaningful updates on when it would arrive. They are all slow as fuck and if anyone says less than 8-12 months you are being lied to.

Cheap work trucks should hit the used car market around when Trump gets to 25-30m aggressively deported mark.

This is damned right. You want people to work? Make work vehicles affordable. Fucking F150 prices are retarded.

How many wetbacks can you stick in to the bed of an old s10, that's your work truck. No American should be doing that type of work- we are too dumb and or too good to do such things! Just like fab lab chip line jobs, we are not skilled enough, we need the chinkypoos to do it for us!

The guys I know who do contractor/home work all drive those like ford transit vans or similar now instead of pickups, are those any cheaper?

Some, but not a lot. They're great, but I don't love them. Can't stand in them, and space is at a premium. The Ford Transit Connect XLT retailed for about $30K new, but Ford stopped making them a couple years ago. No one seems to be stepping in to the compact van models. Lots of used ones for sale, but they're all beat to hell because they were used by people in the trades.

Gotcha. I have zero info on this I'm just saying when I see guys pulling up to houses in my neighborhood it's almost never in pickup trucks anymore, or if it is they're old ones. All the new-ish looking vehicles are all vans.

Yeah, starting about five years ago companies like Mr. Handyman and various plumbing companies bought fleets of them. The general feedback wasn't awesome. Can't get a 4x8 sheet of plywood or drywall in it. Have to strap 8' pipes to the roof rack. Hard to take a ladder longer than about 20' on top. Gas mileage was only marginally better. Plus, the seats were uncomfortable, which is not typical of Ford. They were a solution in some ways, they weren't as cumbersome to drive and park, they did get somewhat better mileage, they were somewhat cheaper, but in the end they're a small vehicle trying to do construction. It's like getting a Corolla when you have five kids. It just doesn't work as well.

Holy shit you are right…looks like I bought the last year they were made. Well that sucks, really wish toyota would bring any kind of van to the states. Now my options are going to be nissan and ram for cargo vans.

Though next van will be a ford 350 or the like so shouldn’t matter.

Pretty sure Nissan stopped making them. I looked at a used one a few weeks ago but it was too beat up to chance and $9k with over 150,000 miles.
