They need to stop with the fake engine noises and crap. If you like EV's, buy an EV, if you like gas cars, buy a gas car. Trying to make an EV like a gas car is stupid.

Looks wise I don't mind the front, the rear looks weird.
Nah, cant wait for "hackers" to make it customizable, like a ring tone:

You realize you're talking to the same people who have spent fortunes trying to make fake meat look/feel/taste like real meat while saying all along it's better for you? Pretty sure it's just the automotive flavor of that particular mental illness.

Has anyone heard anything more about those cheap stripped down Toyota trucks coming to the US? If they don't do it, I wish Hyundai or Kia would attempt it.

Kia is apparently working on something. I think Tacoma/Ranger size first

Those stripped down ones that were posted absolutely arn't coming. We said it at the time, too much regulations. I wanted a maverick competitor.

This is the closest thing to any confirmed news on that front i've seen.

Regulations for what though? Its got the same motor, transmission, suspension, brakes, interior, etc as every other Toyota.

Safety equipment/standards driving the price up I would assume.

Shame then. More economical and cost effective options for people would be a good thing. A full size pickup these days is the size of a 1980's dump truck and cost more than a house.

The AI driving monitoring stuff that is required with the 2027 year model cars is likely going to push prices up another 5-10k I'm sure, if not more.

Have they published rules requiring this stuff yet? My understanding was it was DOA because it didn't work.

Last I heard it was still required on 2027 cars, I hope it isn't possible. It'll likely kill the new car market and skyrocket used prices even higher. Plus it's too invasive and a disturbing requirement.

If its the drunk or impaired driver monitoring, yes the law says it's supposed to be implemented in 2027 by the NHTSA but they haven't implemented anything. Tests kept either not detecting drunk drivers or having too many false positives. Technology isn't mature yet.

It's probably coming someday but it's not coming in 2027.

The one that was posted a few months ago? Far less crash safety type stuff. Closer to a Japanese Kei truck than it was an F150.

The one kinda talked about in my video is new design, probably going to be a disapointment I fear. But seems to have a plant already set aside for it.
