Nissan is channeling their inner GM with the new leaf.

It pictures great

In person- the cheapness hits you hard in the face by just looking at it. The flat door handles, a design feature of “higher end cars” instantly looks like it’s made by Tonka in the Chinesium brittle crappy plastic factory. And then there is everything else…

Edit- rear doors

This video puts most of the blame of Stellantis shitting up all the car brands on Carlos Tavares:

It's funny that they use the Ford F-150 Lightening, a car with a 3-year production run, as an example of what Stellantis should have done.

Im Not No Way GIF

3 co workers had the lightning.

It was fine but typical ford.

What was good, it WAS an F150

Bad- price, price, price of options and stupid packages - failed features they already had done, “phone as a key” was leave your fob in the glove box and use app to unlock/lock doors. My Mach-e does phone key perfectly acceptably (took them a good year and a half to make it work well)… why didn’t the lightning? Why is the offboard power not standard etc etc.

Range, ehhh… always debatable.

Of the 3 at work- they all charge different on the same charger. One returned his because it charged so slow.

The channel is left leaning, so I chalk that up to trying to insert their own bias of 'everyone should be driving EVs.'

Knowing their bias makes it easier to process the information out of their stuff. They seem to do some decent work on some subjects similar to 2010s era Frontline-lite investigative journalism.

i don't follow this channel anymore, it used to be good info
he used to drive a wrx

and now he complains everyday about his lucid

which isn't an ev issue, b/c he traded in his tesla, which was a great car to him (that he admits), but b/c his wife was a contractor to tesla and was fired

so b/c of his shitty wife, he had to get a shitty lucid

it's obvious to anyone that if he didn't have this channel, lucid would say kick rocks instead of buying back the car in full and giving him a loaner car (which he also just returned b/c it has sucked)

like, just go back to the faggot ass subbie

Harry is right, this is a very confusing car. It looks good, it gets fantastic range/economy. It has every single modern comfort and convenience feature, and it’s one THIRD of the price of a comparable European car. Doesn’t need to last 10+ years to be good value. It starts good value.

Close to being done.
The whole car was taken apart initially and all systems checked: coolant system pressurized for leaks, oil system run through, all hoses and clamps replaced.
In one of the pics below is the entire fuel cell removed and checked over. We had the evaporation system replaced.
Downpipes replaced with Unobtanium pieces. ECU sent out to M-Engineering. That came back today for the dyno tuning to start. When that’s done and the logs are check, they’ll do street miles and run more logs.
Hope to have it in a week’s time. Been two months of waiting so far.

I do. It didn't go anywhere. But, its a manual so this new car is a completely different experience.
Did you send it all the way to Chicago? Are you transporting it back or driving it?

Yes, it was shipped to Illinois. It'll be shipped back. I considered flying up there to drive it back, but my schedule isn't going to allow it this month and I don't want to wait anymore.

I'm thinking I'll use it for this autumn's Tail of the Dragon trip instead of the GT3. Again, a new experience I haven't had before. Also likely COTA Oct or Nov before that track is off limits.
