shoppay / shopapp

I went to buy something earlier. I got to the payment page and realized I still had scripts disabled. So I enabled them and when the page refreshed, all my info was filled in including my CC info. There was a popup box wanting me to enter a code that was just texted to my phone. You should all know something about me. I don't save my CC info anywhere online anymore. Not since the bullshit with paypal. I don't let my computer autofill it, I don't save it in the cloud. The only places I let keep a card in file are utility companies, and that's a different card than what these fuckers had. So I don't know how these cocksuckers got all my info including my CC info. I know for god damn sure I never willingly signed up with them and I had never heard of them before today.

Oh and after the refresh, all of my payment options other than shoppay were gone. Initially they had a slew of options including direct entry.
Ever used google pay for anything? I forget what, but some page I visited recently offered to let me pay with stored google pay info. I'd never been to that shop before, and I'm pretty sure the only time I've ever used googlepay was buying a phone from the google shop like 10+ years ago, and I sure as fuck didn't let them store it. I was also pretty surprised.

Nope. Is that what you use when you buy shit from the app store? I never set that up. I believe anyone who keeps financial shit on their phone is a fool.

Hmm, I had thought that was a separate system, but a quick google tells me that google pay is a payment option for it, which makes sense of course. Still not thrilled that a random site can populate that info without me at least doing the "sign in with google" thing. Not to mention that it's been at least 5 years since I've made a play store transaction. I know the db is forever, but it's bonus rustling that companies can just ignore expiry dates on credit cards now.

Ads from games auto installing themselves. I found one a month or so back. Found 3 more today and 2 others that had downloaded themselves but didn't manage to install. I'm sure it's happening when I miss their bullshit close button.

And there is no easy way to report this behaviour to the Google store. The first one I found wouldn't even let me write a review.

If you're on Verizon makes sure the Verizon App Manager is disabled. That shit is notorious for downloading bullshit apps by itself onto phones.

I am. I will look into this.

But it's also happening on my tablet which doesn't have a sim card.

I don't have Verizon app manager installed and I can't find it in the app store. Did you find it on your phone?

Finally got fiber to the house installed today. This should be a good thing right? It's been such an unorganized fucking mess that all it's done is piss me off. Last subcontractor that came to do work on my house said the internet provider would be the only people coming in my house (they are also the power company here) guy shows up half hour late. I get a text with things expected from them WHEN HE'S IN THE FUCKING DRIVEWAY. One of them is they don't go in attics/crawlspaces. That would have been great to know ............3 weeks ago when they started this shit. Then it turns out that it's another fucking subcontractor who's stock answer is 'I don't do that'. I wanted the service too bad to kick him out of my house but when he was done I called the provider and asked what was supposed to be done with the old equipment. They said the guy was supposed to take them with them so they have to come back some time in the future. What a fucking shit show but this thing does 100% peg out my Amplifi Alien router up and down.

Time for Medical Establishment Rustling time with Haus...

As documented in other threads, I have a kidney situation going on, which is probably going to necessitate surgery soon. As such the Dr wanted me to get a CT scan last week to monitor the situation and see if it was stable or getting worse.

I go get the scan. Afterwards, I ask them for a copy of the scan on a CD, which they can do, and they do for me. I get home. Pop open the scan and in 5 minutes I've identified "the enemy" (A kidney cyst), and used the viewing software to measure it (23mm x 27mm x 34mm). I figure in a day or two the Dr will call me and we'll schedule the follow up and plan things (i.e. when I'm going under the knife).

No call last week. I drop them a note on the patient portal Monday. They call me back Monday afternoon. They ask when I'm going to get the CT scan. I tell them I've already had it done. They then confirm they haven't gotten the report from the radiologist. I tell them "I have the whole thing on the CD. I can bring to the office". They tell me "No, that won't work, we just have to get the report from the radiologist."

I'm starting to think/believe that they don't know how to actually read the scan images (something which took me 20 minutes with the software which COMES ON THE CD WITH THE SCAN to figure out). And they're doing my diagnosis off the two sentences the radiologist types up in the email they send them....
And the rustle continues.....

I call the Dr again yesterday. They STILL haven't gotten the report from the radiologist. And they tell me "Oh, they say they're waiting for a copy of your PREVIOUS ct scan done at a hospital 2 months ago so they can compare them and then report".... And this has caused now a 2 week delay between scan and my dr getting anything.

I call the imaging center. They admit they requested it and are waiting for a response. I ask if they've followed up with the other place on it, "No, we just have to wait until they send it to us"

Me : "I have the full previous CT scan on a disc here, can I just bring it by for you?"
Them : "Uhm.... we've never had someone do that, we just have to wait for the other place"
Me : "This is delaying a surgery I need to have which is going to take a month to recover from and I'd like to get done before summer"
Them : "..."
Me : "Get the radiologist on the phone, I'll ask them"
Them : "Uhm, yeah, we can work with a copy of the disc"

I drive the disc to the imaging place, they make a copy in 5 minutes and tell me "OK, your Dr will have the report by the end of the day" (It was already 4:30 when I dropped by with the disc)

Me : "Why didn't anybody just notify me that they needed the pervious scan?"
Them : "..."
Me : "If you'd just asked, we could have skipped a TWO WEEK DELAY."
Me : Holds up manilla envelope labeled "Kidney Situation" containing the disc and reports from the other scan.
Me : "I literally had this in my hands the day you did the CT scan on me two week ago"

I've actually got a radiologist in the family and when I have him look at scans for me he can't even look at them on his work computer because their software won't load anything not queued for them through the official system. He has to open it on his personal PC.

How many millions of software engineers in this country and software for everything is total shit. Now realize that everything in the medical industry is really run by all those fat black women you see sitting in the lobbies of every medical office everywhere. The doctors just go from patient to patient, all the admin work is done by those fat nogs.

Of course it doesn't get done and is wrong.

Update : Since I typed up that earlier post I did actually get a text from the radiology place with a link to the full report. Guess my "bad customer service Haus" routine put some fire under their collective asses yesterday.

And yeah, after my wife's medical issues she had I taught myself how to run the software and read the scans. If you can manage basic CAD software or so half the photoshop people do around here you can figure out the scanning client software.) Now that I have their report I was able to cross check it and verify against the scans of what they saw in which images. Great and groovy. But why the living fuck did it take them 2 weeks is the question I'm stuck on. Especially since the whole of what the previous scan for them provided was the ability to say "This was/wasn't seen on the previous scan". Which my Dr could determine since she had the previous scan reports.

You'd be amazed how fast the radiologist goes through the scans. 2-4 minutes for a CT and ~5 minutes for an MRI. They do hundreds per day.

I figured, I also figure it will all be being done by AI within 5 years. So the AI will crank our the result and the radiologist will sanity check it and sign off.

Too few rads over here. In the ER we have fracture recognition software already. Fact check it. Often better than us non-orthos live. Then rad description the day after for quality control and correction of treatment. Works.

How far away from retirement are you?
At least 15 years?

It wasnt annoying theyre complaining I get it, thats the phone for the shift supervisor so idiots calling off not being able to reach the supervisor is a pretty big disruption. But acting like I can do something about reception issues which have always been a problem in that room and that im doing nothing about it is a bit jimmy rustling.

With that said, are there any legitimate solutions to shitty service for mission critical cell phones? Already switched providers once so its not a carrier specific issue.

You can get boosters from carriers that plug into your network/isp.
