I’ll eat the shame on that one for sure.
Don't beat yourself up over that one too much. Some car repair takes a decent amount of strength used at weird and awkward angles. My wife is quite a bit stronger than the average woman, but I expect she'd have a ton of trouble with some of the minor repairs I've done in the past few years. I'm sure if it came down to it, stubbornness could eventually win the day, but some things would be MUCH more of an ordeal for her. Worth considering when deciding whether to take your car in or try it yourself of course. Also, if you don't have a 2nd car, you don't exactly want to be halfway through something that makes your car undrivable and realize you need something you don't have, something broke that shouldn't have, or you just get otherwise stuck for whatever reason.

Blocking ads on YouTube no longer stops and deletes them. Still have to watch the whole thing. New BS change? Depends on the channel? Everything just gets worse and worse over time.
See if you can download the Brave browser. I haven't seen YouTube ads in like 6 years. In fact... I haven't seen any ads on any site.

When our cat would not eat it was just over $1K for blood work , knockout juice (he's almost rabid at the vet- hates it) and the meds to get him straight.

Wife's car was $1,400 for new breaks/rotors/oil change and transmission service. Unfortunately you have to maintain vehicles or they will let you down. Did you look and see if that pothole drove part of the sheet metal of the car onto your tire, that would make it do all of that?

Also, much variance in the success of this - but there have been times known where you can press on the city / county / whatever for the road and the damage caused by the poor conditions.

Sounds like in basic terms, a warped rotor - so new rotor and pads, good... but it could be a lot and many more things

Turned out I need a new wheel bearing and hub on that wheel. Also earlier in the year when I had a hard brake, I had apparently overheated my front brakes, so those’ll need replaced to, but just gonna do that later.

And I guess pothole was the wrong term, but I was tired and brain couldn’t think of anything else. I was turning onto my street and I live on roads with 0 shoulder or anything and part of the curve had eroded away and my back wheel dipped into it I guess at just the right angle to be a piece of shit.

My AmEx is burnt to a crisp at this point.
