Wife likes Youtube TV for convenience. I only like it for NFL . Today we get this:

"In order to deliver a wide variety of sports, news, and entertainment programming on YouTube TV, we enter into agreements with network partners. Each time we renew our contracts with these partners, we advocate for fair pricing and greater flexibility to offer our subscribers the best possible live TV experience. Our current agreement with Disney has approached its renewal date, and we will not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disney’s own live TV products. Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to reach a fair deal, and starting today, October 30, 2025, Disney programming will not be available on YouTube TV. This means you will no longer be able to watch channels like ABC and ESPN or access recordings from these networks in your Library.

We know how disruptive it is to lose channels you enjoy, which is why it’s our goal to bring Disney content back to YouTube TV.
We’re committed to continuing to work with Disney to reach an agreement, but if their content is unavailable for an extended period of time, we’ll offer our subscribers a $20 credit."

I'm going to use this to advocate for cancelling altogether , I can pirate the shows she likes. Bunch a fucking asshole Billionaires arguing over millions. It's already $82 after taxes, cable was cheaper!

Just get on one of the "not quite legal" iptv services/devices.

Local costco seems to have stopped carrying velveta bulk boxes. Just shitty basic craft boxes which at this point I find foul.

For your NFL and everything over the air I can highly recommend the HDhomerun devices. Plug in an OTA antenna and it streams everything to all the devices on your network. Plug in an external USB and you have a DVR as well (which you will always own the recordings on). For NFL and any local sports which air on local channels it's an easy peasy solution.

In Dallas, with a fixed antenna on my roof, I get somewhere around 90 channels. You might be surprised what's OTA.

When you reverse into a parking spot you first drove toward it and had a full picture of the situation. The target should be empty so it's just a matter to keep an eye on new stuff coming in the picture.

Backing out of the parking spot is a different matter. If there's vehicles on both side there's good odds you start moving basically blind until you clear enough of the car next to you to have a clear picture. Then wherever you're backing toward still have cars driving through and people. An empty parking spots usually stays empty when you're backing into it.

It's not a huge difference, but it's enough that backing in is mandatory on military bases, mines, industries and every other places who are anal about safety and the importance of getting the fuck out fast when shit goes down.

I've got one of their cablecard units around here gathering dust. I'm good for NFL just a PITA. She said today it was much better watching TV without commercials so I'm needling away!
We had antenna's I think I got 3 of the 4 major networks but only like 25 channels total. I'm in the middle of nowhere and unfortunately there is a GIANT fucking mountain between me and Las Vegas where I'd get more channels OTA.

Got 3 UPS's a while a back, one for each desktop and one for the NAS. They're all set to send the shut-down signal to the computers after 5 minutes if they lose power. I usually unplug them when I want to turn off everything since it's a quick way to do it all at once and it's a way to constantly test that they're still working since I know that they have a reputation for dying.
A few days ago, one of them stopped sending the shutdown signal. I haven't gotten around to troubleshooting that since at least I can shutdown manually if the battery is still ok. But last night we lost power for a bit, and the other two instantly dropped power, and they wouldn't power back on. This morning when I plugged them back in, they both came up as expected and show a full charge.
