The US Fish and Wildlife sevice released the data for upoming season.

The good. Pintail and Canvasback limits stay up, wasn't that long ago that Canbvasback was thought to be on the way out as in gone for good.

The indifferent. Early teal season is reduced in days due to lower number of blue winged teal on the nesting grounds. Not a huge deal.

The real bad. The conversaiton seaon for snow geese now is almost half a year long. No bag or possesion limit and can do it in some places with unplugged shotguns and such. Way too many snow geese for their nesting grounds. It's bad, because the appeal has rapidly died off for a lot of hunters and the next step is one most people don't want to see. Mass killing of snow geese possibly on the nesting grounds. Will not be pretty.

I know nobody else cares, target of my MS.

If you will get me a helo with one of those Matrix type mini guns on the side I volunteer to wipe out the geese, hate them with a passion. The Canadian geese were all over Charlotte NC with their 2" long green shits. One made a run at my wife in a restaurant parking lot one day. Guess what ? They can't take a punch.

Waiting for communication from people.

Have a home renovation project I’ve asked to get done, but don’t hear from GC for weeks and nothing is scheduled, still.
One of the cars getting work done to refresh and service it. I have to reach out to get any updates instead of them proactively communicating with me.
Selling one of the commercial properties that’s been under contract for 5 months, but it just drags and drags…

Am I the weird one for expecting considerate communication?

You’re not weird. I have to do the same thing for a lot of stuff. I’ll get told dates that things will get done and I have to chase people on or after that date just to get an update. I recently had an issue with a vendor where I had to constantly chase them to get updates of when they were coming out, getting invoices adjusted, etc. But let me tell you, when all was said and done and it was time to collect their bill. They were sending me emails and calling me every day. They even tried to give me a late fee a few days after I received the bill.

Not weird. Professionalism is a lost art to many companies. What really pisses me off is having something scheduled, but people simply ignore time and show up hours late, or not even call back. I've had many people simply vanish into thin air for no reason. Makes it hard to get home projects done on time. I genuinely get surprised when people do and show up when they say they will.

Flip side, since I do believe in keeping everyone in the loop, good or bad, everyone came to me for work issues. Even if it wasn't my project. They knew if they called me it would get handled. My coworkers didn't like it but fuck them. They should have been better at communication.

Wife is going through the exact same thing with a Mothers Day present that was supposed to be here yesterday. Flip side I think I have finally convinced her to stop dealing with sketchy ass Etsy.
Is Sketchy Ass Etsy related to the Soggy Bottom Boys?

Had to replace my garage door opener. It was seriously old and it fought the good fight. Had been working since 1977. It was tired and needed to go. So I got my new one at Lowes, pretty good deal, happy with that. I get it home and open it. It had obviously been opened before. All the parts were there, but the belt (it is a belt drive) was cut in half. Not something that can be fixed. I call Lowes, they tell me I have to box everything up, take it in, and then I can exchange it. I have everything out of the box and the opener already installed with the new rod and everything is ready for the belt. When I finally opened the belt itself is when I realized it was broken. It was all nicely wrapped up and zip tied so it was impossible to see it was broken. I argue with the service person on the phone, she says I have to bring the whole thing back in the box for an exchange.

Fuck that. I'm not taking it down again. So I bring the belt and head to Lowes. I get there, purchase an exact duplicate of the opener, I insist I pay for it at the customer service desk. Upon completing the purchase l open the box, take out the good belt, and put the bad one in the box. I then say I would like to return the opener because there's a bad part. Customer service agent hemmed and hawed and wanted to refuse. I told her to get a rep from the contractors desk over. The guy from the contractors desk came over, saw me, and laughed. He told her to just issue the refund.

Why the fuck is it necessary to go through all that to get good service? Dipshits.

Opener is now working perfectly. It's attached to wifi, which I thought was stupid, but I can now open my garage door if my wife/kids get home and don't have a key. Or when a service person is delivering something I want in the garage and not just in front of the garage. It's somewhat useful. I'm still rustled.

My son is suddenly really into Curious George. I found an episode compilation on YouTube from the official Curious George channel. Turns out it's an edited compilation that only has the set up of George causing some issue, but never shows the resolution. The fuck is this bullshit? What kind of sadistic asshole put this together?

Yeah that remote app is really convenient. Unless it's not working like it was all this afternoon. I had to go find the clicker (cannot be bothered to use the man door - detached garage).

I replaced mine last year. Kits required an extension bar/longer belt kit at $55 each. Box says works on doors to xx inch. Mine were ONE inch taller. I half-assed the measurement the first go and missed the inch. Of course, no one locally had them, so had to order them.

And then the idjits who installed these half-assed the hanging hardware. TWO screws held the entire thing up. Really surprised it didn't come crashing down.

IIRC, the garage door company wanted $500 ea to hang them. Nah.

Mine have wifi, but I disabled them. I do like the master switch that comes with it that turns off the entire unit if needed. Pretty hard to hack into radio signals when they are off.

I HATE going to Lowes / Home Depot, half the shiat is locked up, and they have like 2 workers for the entire 50 acre store. I just order on Amazon now or whatever. The only thing I ran into there was a gaming monitor marked as new online, but the box said refurbished and it looked like someone played ice hockey on it.
