I have a yard full of rocks , 0 vegetation. Wet January so we had the yard sprayed with weed killer in February to head off weeds. Still have random small 1-1-1/2" dead weeds. The rocks snap off my weed eater string before I can even get to the weed and trying a solid weed wheel / blades is asking for trouble.

So I bought a torch from HD, gonna burn them down at the source. easy - peasy. There is nothing around except rocks, and I am intelligent enough NOT to do it on a windy day. Pick up the torch, then I though .. Hmm I better check if I need a burn permit.

Just got back from returning the torch. Apparently the only way I can burn them is to rake it all into one pile, it's a fucking acre and a half of rocks. Fire Department being fun police.

EDIT: BTW if you are thinking shame on me for not asking first, so am I.

i have that torch, first time used it along the fence line everything was going great. there were a couple things growing through some gravel. some weed that more of a woody stem was really slow to burn so put the flame on it for about a min, then the gravel started exploding.

Look up a retrofit PivoTrim trimmer head or knock offs.

Spread some powder with a fertilizer thrower then light it up.

Have the hose ready and act like you're just fighting a fire.

Boom, no weeds, neighborhood hero.

41% glosphosphate for all your vegetation needs. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...ed-killer-41-glyphosate-concentrate-2-1-2-gal Bought a 2.5 gallon jug like 5 years ago, only need a shot worth in the sprayer. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/groundwork-pump-sprayer-2-gal-capacity-pack-of-2-1093743

Looks like it does nothing then a few days later it is drooping, then yellows, then shrivels to death before becoming dust.

That is a variant of what we had sprayed. What i was trying to burn down was the dried remains of growth.

After my dog passed, I adopted one and was going to foster another. The latter attacked the former. Her head has a nasty gash and my hand is fucked. Good deeds never going unpunished.

Live in the desert, wildfire is real. If one of my neighbors called the fire dept on me I'd be fined. Then the guns would come out. Not worth it.

I bought a flamethrower attachment for my grill's propane tank. We were redoing the kitchen, and the 40 year old linoleum glue was just not coming up after breaking like 6 blades. It smelled terrible and I probably have mesothelioma now but that shit came off in one sheet after heating up.

How big is the yard, if it's like an acre, probably worth getting someone with some rake/bagger attachments on a zero turn mower to just sweep it over and over to collect most of the rocks until you got bare dirt mostly.
