Why you hatin' on Asmo and Puffi?!

As a handful of folks might know, mine comes from basically skipping out on the Christian faith several years ago. For a variety of reasons, the least of which being an unhealthy interpretation of the already fucked-up mass of Christian/monotheistic theology, I tossed it aside and decided to go "find myself." The first five years were pure hell, as I saw myself as nothing more than a piece of shit who had abandoned his faith, his community, his morals, and basically his own identity. I was constantly struggling with suicidal thoughts and wondering what to make of life anymore. Ironically, this is around the time I started browsing FoH (2005-ish).

In the past eight years I've come to the conclusion that I'm basically a decent human being with a spiritual side (hence, still an acolyte of sorts) who so happens to be bisexual and, if I felt I could get away with it - and would look decent - probably get a sex change (yep, one o'them FoH tranny wannabe sorority members). In all seriousness, though, gender identity disorder and acknowledging my confusion and frustration over my sexual identity probably helped to bring me to this point. For the first time in life I'm honest with myself, reasonably happy, well-adjusted, loving, and tolerant - sometimes even to the intolerant.

In the past few years browsing the board has brought me some sanity, stability, and solace in some otherwise hellish moments of my life. The humor, honesty, brutality, and camaraderie here have been enjoyed a lot and have challenged my thinking on a number of issues. Thanks for keeping the dream alive, Draegan and co.

EQ main when I started playing again -- trull shaman 4 life. Also:

Varia Vespasa was both my main and the character I was most known as (due to my Undermountain activities) back when I played on the Sojourn MUD, in the olden days when telnet and associated bulletin boards were cutting-edge internet stuff, and windows 3.1 was a dark and forbidding sourcery lurking in the near future. By the time I switched games from the MUD to Everquest the internet was actually becoming a real thing. I kept the Varia Vespasa name (and most of the rest of my stable of characters names) on Everquest so people from Sojourn who had transferred over to EQ earlier, most especially the FoH people like Tagad etc (who also originated on Sojourn) would recognise me. Since the internet was now a thing and I needed a handle there too I decided to go with Varia for the internet as well for the same reason.

My email name came from a randomly thought up junk name I came up with after an all-night drive from Vancouver to Edmonton for a gaming convention, that I needed for my fancy membership badge to play in the Lazermaze thingie in the West Edmonton Mall, while my car of people waited for the other car in our group to catch up to us. Why that mall? Because it was the biggest mall in the world at the time and I had friends who thought it would thus be cool to see it... We werent entirely bright back then... (and the lazermaze was crap)

A name I came up with. My first nick name was Gulliver Wormwood back in the prodigy days. Traveling poisoner. ;-) Nexadon is latin for bringer of death which was perfect for my death knight.

Female Tolkien character, but ,my '3rd EQ name on Quellious.

i made a half elf ranger from SFG in EQ but my brother and his wife were humans that were from Freeport.

i wanted to level with them so I decided I would venture out to them at like level 2. Dumbest idea ever.

i proceeded to die in the karanas multiple times and lost my corpse. Every time I lost my corpse I said fuck it and deleted my character to start again. Wouldn't let me keep the name I used for my deleted character so I picked a random Tolkien name.

At level 5 I tried again, getting lost in the karanas again. Saw some chick near a road and went to ask for help as I kept getting chased by mountain lions or whatever. Ran up and hailed her... "Hail, a bandit".

Fucking great! A necro was kind enough to find that corpse. At that point I told my brother to go fuck himself, I'm just gonna level up on my side of the continent.

Came up with the name for my first character (necromancer) in D2, used it in most games ever since.

Was one of my favorite AD&D chars i ran through a campaign back somewhere in the early 90's, i still have him somewhere in a folder stored with all my AD&D stuff.
Often though, people seem to think the name stems from Diablo as Tyrael, although this just happens to be an unfortunate coincidence.

Siddar is taken from the MTG card Sidar Jubari.

I first used Siddar as my name for a DnD cleric and then again as the name for my first EQ main also a cleric. Then it became my handle for almost all internet forum posting.

Siddar also has some Hindu Buddhist meaning as well and I get asked if i'm Indian every one in awhile because of it.

I wish I'd ever had the guts to actually play the Sheherezade card just once in a game, but I didnt want to get lynched.

Was playing Motocross Madness hardcore online. TAG was the game, needed a good name for it. Always had stupid names like BigPappaSmurf, then I joined the best team. Thought this name was funny. That was over 15 years ago

Seriously, miss that game completely. Custom maps and modded 500cc bikes... Revamp101 where you used to D/L the bike mod and is now a gay porn site... ah the times

it's the japanese word for fox I think, but I got the name from 'Shadowrun' a snes game I played as a kid
