Oh man, I will never forget the first warglaive we got off of Illidan. Our guild had downed illidan previously, but he was still a pain in the ass to do so he caused a few wipes every week. This week, everything was perfect till the last few %. I was on my mage when shit started going downhill fast, parasites in the raid, people dieing. Soulstones going out, battle rezes, shamans all popping because we are literally a few % away from killing him. Our last shaman pops as I get derped once my iceblock falls and illidan is running at him. Illidan swings, kills our shaman, then dies. Vent erupts in happy cheers because we don't have to waste time wiping and we can end everything early this week. We get back however and nobody can loot the boss. Everyone is freaking out, no loot? Did we bug him out? What happened? I want to go to bed? There is an icecream truck in my pool? My house is on fire? The usual raid related things.
One of our DPS then links the damage done for the killing blow and Maiev got the killing blow on illidan. Everyone runs to the forums and google to check if this has happened before after putting in a ticket. 20 minutes later a GM response, hold tight we are figuring out what happened and if the loot is retrievable. So what do we do to kill time? Black Temple hide and go seek... for 3 hours. its now 4am and the raid usually ended at 2am. A little flying leper gnome appears to talk to us and BS while we are waiting for the GM team to figure out what to do for us. We start laying bodies down on illidans platform spelling warglaive, asking the floating gnome for glaives, requesting our raid leader get GM instant killed. Finally at 5am a new GM appears and starts whispering my raid leader. Our RL played open mic so he could spew orders and not have to hit a vent keybind so out of nowhere we hear him screaming, then our rogue links the MH glaive in gchat. We all thank the devs(I got my zergling staff that night, hunter got a bow, and 3 chestpieces), and go on our merry way.
