Negative, F-NE Hunter Jaded.

And no so no scandal breaks out on my ass... I'm a guy and married.
Haha. We had a hunter by the name of Jaded (who knows how common that name is with hunters) who was full of himself on Thunderhorn.

I selfress and cast Frost Shockkkkkkk. To kill Ragnaros as the last person alive died prior to joining FoH. A number of clutch self resses stand out but that one is the most memorable.

Probably the one lucky kill I will never forget though.TL/DS life story follows. Had recently started playing CS 1.5 at a local LAN cafe. I was home schooled 8th grade through the end of high school. I also played a fuck ton of everquest. In short my social skills were shit and I had almost no friends, certainly none at the LAN cafe I had only been going to for a couple weeks on the weekend. I was learning the ropes and on my way to being good but I was still that new kid no one knew to all the regulars. We were on mindmaze (god I loved that map) I wasn't paying attention, bought a deagle but didn't have the cash to buy ammo. Round plays out I get one kill, have three bullets left and go to climb the tall tower. As I do so my last teammate dies, leaving it 1v1. The other guy left alive is not one of the best but one of the better players at the cafe. He has an AWP. He's also a dickbag. He gets on top of the large L shaped structure at the far end of the map scopes me and stands there taunting me knowing I have no chance in hell of making that long of a shot (elevation making the distance farther than the map is long). Pop, tag him in the leg. Pop, miss. Boom, Headshot. Clapping and laughter ensues and I go from being ignored to someone people knew. The following weekend a guy I didn't even know until he introduced himself by his CS handle invited me over to his place for a get together and I had my first real interaction with adults who were also my peers. Hilarious as it is a headshot in counterstrike changed my life. I mean fuck it wasn't even a month before people were picking me up at my house to bring me downtown to play CS and hang out. I went from being a nobody to what was basically a god damn celebrity towards the end of my time there. It's surreal just thinking about it.

It wasn't so much the lucky kill that was memorable. However it lead to me making my first few friends as a young adult and the begining of my transition from a child to an adult. I had friends while I was in school but I was never part of a crowd because I was the smart nerdy kid who hated all the dickbag pretentious kids in the gifted/advanced programs and my friends were spread across the various clicks. After that I was part of a crowd and got the nickname that follows me around to this day, more than a decade later.

I raided in Everquest as a tank and in World of Warcraft as well so I had a lot of close calls and joined the "purple club" several times as well. Those were really fun games but it wasn't only me involved in the lucky kills and saved by the skin of my teeth moments, no. Those moments that really gave me sweaty palms were mainly playing FPS games.

One game in particular was America's Army, which was (is?) an FPS game developed in some part by the United States Army, it was a pretty fun game and quality as far as FPS games are concerned imo.

There were some maps in the game where you had to escort a "VIP" out of an area, on this map it was a Hospital. The VIP would start alone inside of the hospital and both sides would quickly rush him which result in a massive fire fight and a lot of dead people on both sides. Often times it would lead to everyone who rushed the hospital dead or nearly dead. Also in the game when you took a hit you would move much slower, you wouldn't really be able to run, etc. And the VIP in the hospital started out in the red as far as health was concerned. He was always on the verge of death, making things even more intense.

So usually I would play the VIP with my friends simply because it was a lot easier to have control of the VIP instead of a random player taking the slot and us having no control over what he does. So as I said above, lots of times everyone who rushed from their sides and into the hospital would end up dead, leaving the VIP to have to Rambo his way out and to victory. One game I clearly remember being the last man standing on our team (the escort team) and slowly working my way to the objective and to the victory, picking off random players as I came across them hiding in various alcoves waiting to take me down. Finally it was just me vs. another guy left on the defending team, I had no idea where he was hiding and time was running out, knowing that the VIP was always extremely injured and slow moving I know that I had to make my move, I have to run out into the open and make my way to the helicopter pad for the pick up. I cut through the center of the map and under the bridge to try to flank the defender and boom, there he is right in my face when I turn the corner, I quickly hop and pull out my gun and luckily get off one small burst as he is firing wildly in my direction. He's down and the match is over.

Those games could be really intense. I sort of miss America's Army.

Oh man, I will never forget the first warglaive we got off of Illidan. Our guild had downed illidan previously, but he was still a pain in the ass to do so he caused a few wipes every week. This week, everything was perfect till the last few %. I was on my mage when shit started going downhill fast, parasites in the raid, people dieing. Soulstones going out, battle rezes, shamans all popping because we are literally a few % away from killing him. Our last shaman pops as I get derped once my iceblock falls and illidan is running at him. Illidan swings, kills our shaman, then dies. Vent erupts in happy cheers because we don't have to waste time wiping and we can end everything early this week. We get back however and nobody can loot the boss. Everyone is freaking out, no loot? Did we bug him out? What happened? I want to go to bed? There is an icecream truck in my pool? My house is on fire? The usual raid related things.

One of our DPS then links the damage done for the killing blow and Maiev got the killing blow on illidan. Everyone runs to the forums and google to check if this has happened before after putting in a ticket. 20 minutes later a GM response, hold tight we are figuring out what happened and if the loot is retrievable. So what do we do to kill time? Black Temple hide and go seek... for 3 hours. its now 4am and the raid usually ended at 2am. A little flying leper gnome appears to talk to us and BS while we are waiting for the GM team to figure out what to do for us. We start laying bodies down on illidans platform spelling warglaive, asking the floating gnome for glaives, requesting our raid leader get GM instant killed. Finally at 5am a new GM appears and starts whispering my raid leader. Our RL played open mic so he could spew orders and not have to hit a vent keybind so out of nowhere we hear him screaming, then our rogue links the MH glaive in gchat. We all thank the devs(I got my zergling staff that night, hunter got a bow, and 3 chestpieces), and go on our merry way.
