As long as they are doing security updates, I don't see why anyone would want or need to install Win11. I can't think of single new feature added in an update, over the life of Win10, that I wanted. In fact, updates like the CoPilot one were fucking annoying because I had to go look up how to shut it down and try to wall it off.

I actually just talked to my mom about reformatting an old work computer to get rid of a lot of junk that has pilled up. Since it was set up so company IT could dial into it, they upgraded all their machines to Win11, but I don't want to deal with it. I assume Microsoft wont let you put any more legitimate copies of win10 on "new" hard drives, so researching illegitimated methods is probably in my future.

Then I misunderstood your post. It's not a forced migration , more a sneaky implied one. I'm also concerned about Copilot and want nothing to do with it. Same with all the AI bullshit Samsung keeps putting on my phone.

My wife knows nothing about computers but gets really really mad when you try to fix something on the PC she knows nothing about. Same with my MIL except my MIL *thinks* she knows about computers because she had one in her classroom when she taught in England in the 70's. I've even walked in her house when she was on the phone with 'support' because she got an email telling her to call them. Honestly both could do all they do on a phone/tablet but feel the need to have a PC.

As for me, I liked Windows 7, didn't see the need to make anything else but it is what it is. I also like to play PC games and unfortunately the majority of games are designed to play on MS operating systems.

I am playing with the idea of throwing a SSD in my gaming rig and playing with Bazzo (sp?) the game oriented Linux OS. But I want to play games not fiddle with them to get them to play.
