The consistently high quality of Frieren really blows my mind. Madhouse has had a few genuine hits over the decades (Death Note, Hunter X Hunter, One Punch Man Season 1), a few titles that are well regarded by more hardcore weebs (Hajime no Ippo, No Game No life, Overlord), and a couple movies that were good but are literally thousands of years old (Vampire Hunter D, Paprika) but absolutely nothing that compares to Frieren in quality.

But man I don't think you'll get a lot of argument saying that Frieren is the best anime ever made. Like some people might argue shit like FMAB or AoT but they're all stupid.

I mean the tone shift after they resurrect his sister is probably what he's talking about.

It def went from light hearted dungeon crawler to ewww what the fuck is happening to this bitch in a hurry. It was very well done though.

Can't wait for a season 2 of that

How does this show make a small burial scene about 5 soldiers that have no back story and had very little to do with the plot and zero to do with the characters, so poignant and moving

Fuck me this show just elevates story telling.
