Everything dark comes off really weird because the show is normally pretty light-hearted and goofy.

When Serie is talking to Genau as they're standing over his dead partner she seems like such a callous cunt both to the dead guy and to Genau, but she created those flowers and the kinda shitty things she says to Genau aren't meant as insults, they're just the closest she can come to saying "be careful, I don't want to lose you too". Yes Serie is a tsundere but it's not just to be funny or because the author was filling a trope quota, acting that way is probably the only way she can cope with thousands of years of loss and grief. I don't think Serie is *just* older than Frieren, I think she's Tolkien Elf old, like 5-6 thousand years old or older.

The music. That's how.

The framing of the scenes and the timing and quality of the music.

Exactly the same way the Hero of the south scene made you feel sad and nostalgic for a character you just met.

Also this show is full of details and it's always snow don't tell and I fucking love it.

In the methode fight she clears the fog for Fern and Fern immediately dispatched the male demon, and blast a Zoltraak between Methode and the demon. The demon then takes cover and Methode uses her red ball attack to completely obliterate the cover for Fern to get a clear shot at her.

It's also how the author makes you feel that Genau isn't the monster devoid of emotion Serie wants him to be without even having him shed a tear at his partner dying, but just him hurrying there and his facial expression, him losing his composure saving a child he knew wasn't even real, and him crawling to wrap stark in his coat tells you everything you need to know about his character.

Also his knuckles at the end are raw when she heals him, from dragging himself to start to help him.

I fucking love this show.

I don't care if that makes me a simp, to me Frieren is the best show that was ever aired.

Definitely one of the best animes of all time.

Amazing Frieren episode, I have to say though:

I was really hoping that Methode would join the group. I enjoyed the group dynamic between them, especially in-between the girls. Plus, let's face it Methode is a badass and would be a huge help. I'm sure author has their reason though and at this point they have my utmost faith lol.

Also for the hianime users, I use animekai.to even when hianime was still around animekai would get dubs quicker and always has fast load times. Only problem is there is a water mark in the top right corner but its super small and you forget it is even there.

Yeah that was a turn in the overall vibe yes.

It’s not /creepy/ in the how creepy anime could and can be- just more so in regards to the overall vibe.

It did get quite darker than even was telegraphed in the show. It’s a good show and fun and I do what to see where it goes - but the fact they would just leave her so unattended after resting her - was stupid, bro just got his sister back, the entire reason he did what he did, and is like “eh, glad your back…not going to keep a close eye on you nah”

I love Sentenced to Be a Hero. But I find it perplexing that the heroes are by far the most capable individuals in the entire kingdom. None of the Holy Knights are anywhere near them in skill. I get that getting the Dark Souls life as a punishment forces them to serve forever and all but its just a huge contrast and makes it weird if you think about it.

Yeah, but he's the goatee priest, and he hasn't been around since almost half way through season 1. He left the party to find his childhood friend, Gorilla Warrior. We have to wait and see if he was successful.

In an unrelated note, my son's best friend is Zane.
