Can anyone recommend plans for a Murphy bar? Maybe something that's not TOO ambitious, but doesn't look like shit either
Is that like a murphy bed, but with bottles and glasses? Seems.. risky

Edit: I looked it up and I get it now. Sorry brosef, no plans, but doesn't look too hard:

I just want a hanging one, not something with a full bar. Like.....maybe 2ft x 3ft where a little standing bar folds down.

I have an idea for one I was going to whip up but I thought I'd look for plans first. Haven't found many

I was going to do a similar thing, but just ended up doing a hanging liquor cabinet with some drawers. I shared it in this thread a couple years ago I believe. After trying a few different things for the folding down part, I felt like I couldn't really do it as sturdy as I wanted without buying hardware that was more expensive than I really wanted to shell out. Definitely share if you find some good plans/ideas.

I did one a couple years ago too. It isn’t that difficult and there’s 100 different ways to do the joinery. I based my measurements around the rocks glasses that a friend used and the typical dimensions of a whiskey they drank.

It is oak and I used TotalBoat sealer and finish. Have a Fusion3D file somewhere too on my desktop and some other photos. On my phone now and these were the easiest to find.

Thanks! Your post is where I got the idea. Any pics of the finished install?

Unfortunately, no. It was for a couple I knew from hanging out at bars and when I gave it to them they were building their deck. Since it’s been like 4 years since stopping drinking have lost contact with them 😅

Good on Bosch. The router is way out of warranty. They sent me a FedEx label and said "send that bitch back and we'll unfuck it."

$149.

Not quite as good as I thought they'd be. But since it's a $329 router, I guess this is the best way to go.

Well, track saw recommendation was solid. Live edge on this wasn't superb, so now this gets to be 1 inch stock since I've got myself an edge to rip.

Thanks guys!

Did you end up going with the Wen? That looks like the Wen color / logo, just couldn't remember where you settled.

Yeah, it's a Wen. Goes right thru an inch of pretty solid hardwood, so that's about all I need it to do.

Finally got that and the router back from Bosch and it wasn't a million degrees with 400% humidity today, so got to get some shit done.

Was gonna turn that piece into a coffee table for one of my buddies, but the edge was all splintered, so unsuitable. I could still do it, just a squared piece I suppose, but that defeats the purpose of having all this live edge shit. It will be some good cabinet sides.

So, I'm gonna drop this here since it's what I'd consider "woodworking adjacent" , it's about using a CnC.

I plan on picking one up soon, probably something in the middle on size build plate range (like 20"x20"). But the real endgame for me with it won't be woodworking, it will be graphite working. Has anybody around here done work with a CnC where you had to be cognizant/in control over super fine particulate dust coming off it? I'm debating a shop-vac with a shoe for around the router bit and a bag in the shop vac, but want to make sure I get the right bags/etc to handle graphite powder as it's conductive and will right and proper screw shit up if it gets into stuff.
