Me back in Nov 2025: "maybe I should make a game now that AI is good. or maybe I could wait 18 months and it would do everything for me.."

What's funny is I haven't seen a single attempt or prototype to create an LLM-version of Oblivion's radiant AI or Skyrim's Radiant quest system.

Or builds on the nemsis system from Shadow of War (RIP that wonder woman game)

Or GW2's dynamic events

All I've seen are things like Everweave which is pretty cool. Or AI slop games like this that puts boring gameplay ontop of existing rendering engine like Three.js or whatever. It's interesting and impressive to vibe code "something" but it's not really worth playing.

I'm sure soon we'll get interesting procedural content from an LLM-based system, I just haven't seen anyone really try and succeed yet.

It seems likely we'll eventually see a game shipped with a small custom model for dynamic quests and reactive content. Some of those mobile models could probably pull it off. Even just having it populate stuff like NPC interactions and daily routines dynamically could be pretty awesome. Gotta be seeing something like that soon.

Edit: I'm biased and most interested in local models for this sort of thing, most likely will be a cloud based model though honestly

Saw a guy create vanilla wow populated only by ai players - a single player wow complete with raids and dungeons. I'm in, 100%. Can't wait to argue with AI over hand of rag on my shaman.
