I have so me guild mates that doing fifty percent of a sim but able to concentrate on mechanics of a fight and avoiding going splat probably would be a big improvement.

It will help on normal, but you can’t do that level of dps and clear heroic unless you overgear it. Mythic obviously impossible.
The game would benefit more from a new tab on the spellbook/talent pane showing you the rotation for your current loadout wowhead class guide style. They also need to redesign any specs that require flow charts to play properly.

For people in the hopeless category it's usually not about doing a rotation poorly. It's usually about just not pressing buttons at all. With only one button to press maybe their APM will improve and some of the turnips you find yourself in proximity with for one reason or another will be a little less plant-based.
Once this is up and running there's going to be pressure to make it better/smarter, delete the global cooldown penalty and so on. Day one out of the box it might be 50% but it's very likely that it won't stay at 50%.

I stopped raiding when I stood in a slightly different shade of purple puddle on a purple ground and healed the boss for 50% on the WOTLK server, I don't even recall what raid it was (it started with vehicles). Just annoying mechanics, and I realized I don't enjoy raiding anymore.
I was worried maybe I'm just getting old and the reflexes are shot, but I'm keeping up with the teen kiddo in Split Fiction, and those bosses throw a lot of stuff / rings / explosions for you to dodge so I'm good. It's not me, it's them

I hate retail WoW with a passion, but the MoP remix was perfect. It was neat doing daily raids and constantly getting more and more OP. Everyone in the PuG raid finder seemed to be having fun, especially later on when raid mobs would die while monologuing.
This time around I'm not even going to give them money for it, just use a trial account, which level locks the character. Add their broken scaling system to the mix, and eventually your level 20 demon hunter will be one shotting hard raid mobs with like 5000% run speed because of the mastery talent.

Everything I hear is that the tools are extremely robust if you want to customize your Barbie dollhouse, but I do not care.
Hell, unless they have portals to old expansions or crafting tables, I won't bother. And given that (to avoid Garrison loneliness) it sounds like you have to travel to your neighborhood, then your house, even if they did have portals / tables, it doesn't sound like it would be any faster than staying in the capital city.
