I'm not judging, just curious. Season 3 is just more of the same. If you are not into grinding delves you might as well not subscribe. The story jumped the shark expansions ago, and the writers don't know how to write a likable character even if their life depended on it. The once fabled cinematic team seems to have been gutted as well, especially facial animations. If you want to have a look, wait for Season 4.

This is just my opinion, but WoW is in a steady decline right now. Frankly, Microsoft leadership has no clue what to do with the game, and Blizzard leadership has been lackluster since the original devs left.

The worst part about all this are the broken promises:
"You will see if an item is an upgrade" - Nope, you still have to Sim your character.
"Damage profiles will be less spiky, we'll increase health pools" - Nope, the encounter team decided to ramp up damage as well. Now there are less outright one-shot mechanics, but hard ticking DoTs if you fuck up, so healers will get blamed even more now when they can't outheal the stupid.

One very enlightening video was the discussion Lying Max and Dratnor had with Ion, where Dratnor said shit like "When I decided on a new main, and had to read up all these things about the gearing and optimal rotation", and a few weeks later Blizzard is parading "One Button Rotation" as this big success--because the dps rotations got too complicated.

This game is like an old ex. I don't give a shit about it's feelings and problems, I just want to ride it till I'm bored, then dip out.

It's still F2PI still have almost 200k gold left lol

If you just want to solo and enjoy a story IDK why this would be chosen over FF14 frankly. Even Dawntrail got back on track with post expansion patches from what I gather.

Have an account, haven't played for a few years, updating the expansions usually what makes me go "nah" I tried playing again this spring, but they kept rejecting my CC, even tried the wifes, no dice.

The players in that game creeped me the fuck out, not gonna lie. Maybe I had a bad server lol

If its a monthly sub thats the problem and its been that long, just create a trial account and create on Gilgamesh (there is a FoH guild on there IDK if its active atm). You dont need a CC to create a trial account. There is at least 200 hours of MSQ content alone + raids, dungeons, trials, 25 mans etc all accessible via group finder that is puggable.

Honestly last time i played I dont even remember talking to people outside the guild even during dungeons.

Honestly FF just didn't occur to me this time, saw a new season was out, and figured why not. Dune is what I want to be playing right now, but knocking out some server issues, and I grabbed some new RAM & new SSD to get a little boost to performance, just gotta go pick it up.

The payment thing was apparently an issue on their end, and was affecting a bunch of people at the time. Just bad timing.

My RL friends are trying to get me started again. But I just don't like the game loop. I can max out my gear (and whatever the Super Slot Gimicky Item of the Season is) solo via delves, just to do some half assed mythic dungeons eventually together. They're even more casual than me, so I don't think they ever get past +4s, so there's no real incentive.

As far as wow goes it's no longer the blood thirsty grimdark copy cat we used to love. It's biggest market is probably old white women collecting pets and grabbing weeds. Good luck with that.

Endwalker was *chef kiss*, Endwalker post patches were meh
Dawntrail was meh to ugh, Dawntrail post patches have gotten back to the point of very good.

Its hard to know what to do after their big story finished and they introduced a character noone liked in NA or JP, they slowly are fixing the character and introducing an new expansion spaning sotry arc. FF14 story will be just fine.

Sounds like Legion Remix is going to be significantly lower scaling, they're cutting the upgrading gems and gear upgrading, stat scaling cloak replaced by extra nodes on your artifact.

Hopefully they'll at least be Fun Allowed enough to let you equip a lot of legendaries

I actually loved the overpowered chaos of the MoP event server.

If the scaling was still busted, I was going to use a free account and stay at whatever the level cap was (20?) and just abuse the broken scaling system + low level char. But I have a feeling they won't allow fun.

I would hope they allow player power to scale to the same level as MoP - every max level character in levelling gear can solo any raid mob in Legion in seconds, and there's no Mage Tower, so there is literally zero content any player couldn't do with zero risk in the base game today.
