I am back on the problem of this being a bunch of people capitalizing on other people’s talent. Big wait and see. I haven’t really touched an mmo since wrath classic up to ulduar.
It didn’t have the same magic anymore. Either the community is so toxic now or I’m too old to deal with it, but it was not as fun. It was really weird being talked down to about encounters and classes then finding out none of the people had ever fucking played it when it was current endgame after having killed heroic Lich King (albeit at like 15% buff) back in the day.
I sometimes listen to some classic game soundtrack playlists and it will hit on a piece of music from Classic, TBC or Wrath and I have to imagine it’s what a freshly lit cigarette smells like to a former smoker or whatever a heroin addict smells if someone is burning an opioid on a spoon nearby.

Eh, 12.2 is Feb/March-ish, 13.0 is Septemberish, they gotta have something to cover Summer '27. And unlike last time, they can't even spackle over the gap with setting up / finding parts for Barbie houses.
Blizz have painted themselves into a corner, however, as the least recently touched material, Warlords of Draenor and Battle for Azeroth, is more factional PvP based than the faction unity themes they have going at the moment.

So .3 patches are out? No more "fabled" season? This was usually my cue to buy the expansion in a sale and subscribe for a month or two to play through it and to tick it off the list.

I'm not sure what you mean by "genuine." The going theory is that they started work on this right after they announced they would be stopping development on SoD. Which was 2 years ago. And if they are really going to deviate from the original WoW storyline starting with not opening the dark portal, then basically EVERY expansion is thrown out the window and they really are starting over.

I mean like they are actually doing what you are describing here and genuinely scrapping all the expansions. Not doing a halfassed cash grab that is only slightly different from Season of Discovery.

It's pretty obvious now that SoD was a massive petri dish to experiment with different things. If Classic+ is not referred to as "seasonal" then that's pretty clear indication they are going to develop for it for years to come. Another indication in that direction will be if they charge a box price along with requiring the paid subscription. NONE of the classic or seasonal servers required a box price.

Too little too late. I mean "nice", handful new zones, new quests and dungeons but at this point I played classic to death literally. They really need to come up with a lot of changes and fresh gameplay to make me reconsider
