Raid Tier Set Models Datamined for WoW: Forever
We've datamined appearances of new sets of raid gear for all nine classes in World of Warcraft: Forever!
Isn't that the same as the first paladin set ever? I seem to remember seeing this set way back in original WoW.![]()

Shield Slam, while being a capstone talent, isn't what will make Prot Warriors viable. There are several talents along the way in the tree that will do that.I really only care if they make prot warrior viable
Having to fury tank, while fun, what a damn shame.
From what I saw in forever I dont think what they did to shield slam will be enough at end game. It still doesn't scale for shit

Yeah the problem is threat, always was.Shield Slam, while being a capstone talent, isn't what will make Prot Warriors viable. There are several talents along the way in the tree that will do that.
Shield Spec
Defiance
Vangaurd
Improved Shield Wall
Bastion
The reason Prot Warriors couldn't hold threat is because once they got full armor / shield etc, they were rage starved. Master of Defense helps alieviate that along with other rage reducing talents for abilities.Yeah the problem is threat, always was.
We gained good tools, but if we can't hold aggro at higher levels of gear it's all pointless.
None of these fix the issue, defiance was always there it's limited to shield users now, shield slam will be the determining factor of our ability to hold threat.
It didn't work in classic cause it didn't scale, it got bumped up but it still doesn't scale.
Settled on dwarf shammy. Still not sure if going pve, pvp, or rp.I mained Shaman back in the day and while I loved playing Resto and the class in general the changes to Enhancement are absolutely badass.
Enhancement is focused around 2H now with loads of talents to support a rapid Stormstrike playstyle. 8 second CD stormstrike increases you nature dmg and the CD is reset if you parry or dodge. Since HIT and CRIT are singular stats now and not for spell or melee this will be huge. Additionally it has a lot of talents that synergize between melee and spell dmg. Like Maelstrom weapon so you can let it get to 25 stacks then burst out 5 lightning bolts with no cast time. Lots of mana regen synergy too.
Enh looks quite viable for 5 man tanking too and has talents to support it. This is long before we have any idea about itemization so while Warriors will be strong this will not be World of Warriorcraft Vanilla at all. I suspect Rogue will be way stronger in DPS than before too.
Sunder ain't doing shit when you got a raid stacked with DPS warriors exploding the dmg meters. In vanilla people were retarded. In classic people were still retarded but they figured out how to min/max DPS.It's been a hot minute but I remember having to stack 3 Sunder Armor to hold aggro as a Prot War in Vanilla..
Anyway, I'm very surprised at the hype this is generating. I'm happy for the people who are happy about it, but I couldn't be any less interested in playing "Classic but with a couple retail ideas sprinkled on top". I guess I'm just over playing this, I played it 22 years ago, I was 22 years younger and I'm fine with how the retail game evolved since my gameplay in it works for me (as a mostly solo collector of stuff, I don't like the M+ hamster wheel they turned it into). I played the guild / raid game for years in EQ and then early WoW, it's in the past now and I don't miss all the drama.
I do think it was dumb to add the cloud elves instead of Ogres and High Elves but eh, that's Blizzard we're talking about. I guess they're adding a few new places and quests but really I can say with a straight face at no point in my original Vanilla experience did I think I was missing ..*checks notes* .. some Riverglades.
Yup, also kind of triggering seeing multiple recolors for a few sets... why?FUCK
Why is the hunter set always trash other than T4
Raids were simpler that's for sure.I wonder if the raids are gonna be a bunch of DDR shit like retail. I dunno. I felt like fights were conceptually simpler back then. Probably rose tinted glasses. TBC had some mechanical bitch fights though.
This is why I only did LFR because it was the lesser of the DDR type raiding. I don't give a shit about trying hard for raids anymore as I'm only there to see content and get some sort of gear upgrade. Which begs the question, will LFR be a thing in this?I wonder if the raids are gonna be a bunch of DDR shit like retail. I dunno. I felt like fights were conceptually simpler back then. Probably rose tinted glasses. TBC had some mechanical bitch fights though.
