A ton of people interested in WoW or GTA VI weren't even born when that game came out. I'm in my 40s and I was like 11 when that game came out. I barely remember anything about it. The only people that game had an impression on are weeb freaks and troons.

The Gay Elf starter zone apparently has a "save the world" moment where you attack Al'Akir or something. The premise of the story being that the Skyborne made a pact with the Windlord to stay in his safe space plane of air during the Nightwell doom.

At level 12 you go and beat his ass though for some reason. In a Marvel-esque way.

Come on. Just make their origin a little tragic or something. Their safe space is crumbling for whatever reason and they are forced to descend to Azeroth for the first time in 10000 years. Then one side chooses to embrace the magic that doomed them and joins the alliance and the other follows the elemental shaman of the horde. Seeking to reclaim their lost home.

It does not need to be complicated. Seriously.

Different gamers. There is plenty of gamers that hate GTA shit and there is plenty of MMO lovers too. Like im a gamer and I have absolutely no interest in GTA. those games, at least to me, are for teens and pre-teens to get their violence on.
