I had an arch nemesis dwarf Hunter that my semi static crew would run into regularly while leveling, must have been 20's to 60 and well after too. Maliki? Geez I can't remember anymore, it will randomly come back to me later, but we must have killed one another repeatedly on dozens of occasions while leveling. I usually got the better of it as a Shaman as hunters tended to be easy 1v1 and I often had at least one other with me so it just generally was a win.

Quit for a few months and came back and the little turd was camped on top of the gate to UnderCity. All raid geared up and I can only imagine his glee murdering me in my crappy 60 greens

Another fond memory of duoing with a rogue pal at Lights Hope chapel and starting an absolute brawl. We were the only horde and we must be had 8-10 alliance we ganked and camped while they all rez'd 1-2 at a time trying to kill us. Never left combat until we eventually were overrun.

Stuff like that is why pvp servers were awesome. Probably not a thing you get anymore though. People are different now

The SS/TM made me laugh. Literally zero point, but just a zerg going back and forth between the 2 towns fighting. One would push, aggro the guards and then other would push and do the same thing. Just back and forth for nothing but killing.

Kinda agree with the fog unless its dynamic which I don't think it is? I feel like this is supposed to feel more epic but I just can't see what's going on in the distance.

EDIT: Nvm I turned off the fog and it does lose some feeling to it.

Fog like this should only be in places like Wetlands, Duskwood, Deadwind Pass or Dustwallow Marsh. When you overdo it, it looks like Superman 64.

Especially before they added "Honor" and ranks and it was killing just to kill.

Streamers take World PVP content to an entirely new level, but atleast it's fun and keeps the good times rolling. Not really worth being in comms with them though, they're all pretty insufferable to listen to.

Man fuck you, Foxes are just cool, don't you have a favorite animal or were you that kid in school that hated dinosaurs. Has nothing to do with furry desires. I just like Foxes, not in a sexual way I'm not Muslim.

Also foxes have a cool skill. 3minute CD buff that does increases dodge by 50% and attack speed by 30%

I was on Hyjal server in 2005 which was a PvE server so Alliance outnumbered us Horde like 3 to 1. After honor went in but before BGs, PvP was a huge Alliance blob outside of Tarren Mill with the Horde hiding behind guards while both sides exchanged fire. I was a mage at the time, so what I did was find some other mages to group up with. I had us hide mounted behind a tree and waited for them to bunch up before charging into the mass of Alliance and we AoE bombed them all. Wish I had video of us killing three or four dozen Alliance in seconds and not losing a mage. Invis pots worked too.

Absolute peak of WoW open world pvp imo. This was my favorite period. Got like stone sergeant or something pretty low but still unusual at the time purely from small man pvp stuff. That was such a good system for the time. BGs turned it into something different. Still fun but a totally different thing

Now its 2026 and we have to get colonoscopies and worry about blood pressure. We have real jobs, probably families, and definitely can't/won't be grinding the game like a full time job.

But there's a big chunk of people from back in 2005 that never grew up. They are still mentally 22 years old. They don't have real jobs, if they even have a job at all. They still play WoW for 60 hours a week. They have rogue opener stunlocks ingrained in to their muscle memory more deeply than walking at this point.

You're only signing up to be fish in their giant barrel. You're going to be dealing with hundreds of them on every single layer, in every single zone where a reasonable choke point can be found. Zoning in to BRD? Better prep your group for 3-5 death walks to get to the zone in. Your Onyxia raid is gonna be a half an hour late to get through the wall of PvP at the gate.

This doesn't even account for the reality of this being a 'forever' locked level 60. What do you think horizontal progression is going to be for these people? It's going to be sitting in Redridge for 8 hours a day moonfire spamming grey cons.

Probably because everyone is finally coming to the realization that modern game devs are shit and this is about the best you're ever going to get for an MMO. The "next best thing" is going to suck, so may as well reroll on the tried and true.

I still absolutely refuse to pay a sub and box price for an MMO, but it seems people are so desperate for something to play that it works. Plus I only ever played WoW for maybe a year at release and so I don't have the same attachment many do.

The latest build fixed the completely fucked lighting on Mac a little. Not seeing a green tint on everything. Resource nodes still turn black when you use them, need to investigate it a bit further.

I am happy Asmon is bringing so many players, I just don't want to be anywhere near his simp army.

Also yet another nice innovation from Turtle WoW I hope they adopted was PvP quests during normal questing. You can skip these of course but most of them were simple, do a game or two of WSG and you were rewarded with a nice questing item. Usually a weapon. This gets more players to drop into PVP battlegrounds a little and rewards them for doing so. I have almost zero interest in WoW PVP but I was willing to do that here and there in the leveling journey and it was fun enough.
