We're rounding into the last bit of the development phase for JunkiesNation.com and I'm putting in a preliminary announcement up to begin generating some interest for people that want to join the team. Junkiesnation.com is going to be a website that essentially mirrors Rerolled/FOH but in website/news form.

JN will funnel in all the articles from our fansites but JN as a whole will focus primarily on MMORPG news. But that's not all, I essentially want to build it into a full nerd/geek website where we will hopefully have people writing about comic books, anime, movie reviews, book reviews, tech news/reviews and single player game reviews as well.

We've got some really smart hobbyists and professionals that consistently post in the Tech forum, and there has been some discussion already about starting a tech blog for Rerolled. (http://www.rerolled.org/showthread.p...-hardware-blog) Here's your chance. Because Rerolled and Junkies Nation is backed up by a media company, we are going to attempt to get hardware in to do our own reviews.

That being said, I'm looking for folks that frequent each of the forums here on Rerolled (Comics, Tech, Movies, Books, Other Games) to write above individual topics they find interesting. The frequency of writing is up to you, whether it's once a day or once a month; ideally the most ardent writers would be putting something out every 5-6 days. So if you're interested in writing reviews or opinion pieces on any of these topics shoot me an email or PM. And depending on the popularity, we can hopefully help you fuel your own personal hobbies.

Email:[email protected]/* <![CDATA[ */!function(t,e,r,n,c,a,p){try{t=document.currentScript||function(){for(t=document.getElementsByTagName('script'),e=t.length;e--;)if(t[e].getAttribute('data-cfhash'))return t[e]}();if(t&&(c=t.previousSibling)){p=t.parentNode;if(a=c.getAttribute('data-cfemail')){for(e='',r='0x'+a.substr(0,2)|0,n=2;a.length-n;n+=2)e+='%'+('0'+('0x'+a.substr(n,2)^r).toString(16)).slice(-2);p.replaceChild(document.createTextNode(decodeURIComponent(e)),c)}p.removeChild(t)}}catch(u){}}()/* ]]> */

In the days/weeks to come I'll be putting posts in each of the individual forums to go over more specific topics.

I think you'll need a Minecraft writer.

Not me though - get one of the server kings or modder junkies to do it.

Seriously - you put Minecraft on something and it's instant boners.

I'm curious. If someone were to mostly talk about an MMO, or multiple MMOs, would it be okay for them one week to randomly write about another genre of games or something maybe not even related to games?

Think of it this way, if you find yourself reading something cool and interesting and would then go ahead and either create a new thread here or add it to an existing thread here, then I would like to see it written about on JN.com

I'd be interested, but I also don't want to commit to anything right now. So if there's no hard deadlines, I may try to whip some things up for you eventually.

I have an editor on the payroll, just doesn't expand to Rerolled apparently. Huzzah!

@Troll
There aren't deadlines, you just post once a week, once a month. Up to you.

I've reread that 15 times and it's still bananas. So are you looking for reviews of all types, across all media platforms(movies, shows, games, hardware, etc.)?

Yes.

Imagine Rerolled, but now a website. There is an MMORPG section, and Other Games section, a Movies/Books/Tv section, a Tech section etc. I would like to present content, by people who love the topics, on all those different categories. The site will focus mainly on MMORPGs but I want to bring in all aspects of what many of enjoy outside MMORPGs.

What is in it for the writers?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be standoffish, but it seems to me you are trying to build a brand on basically free labor. I understand you probably can't pay now... but... some sort of goal/outline would be nice. It is obvious you are looking for ways to monetize your brand but what about the people who may help you get there?

What's confusing? Draegan is basically inviting you to blog*. This right here is actually a pretty good deal for a self-starter, an enthusiast, or an extroverted hobbyist.

*Drae-Co LTD and all Drae-Co subsidiaries reserve the right to tell you you're fucking stupid and bad at writing and no one wants to read the monkey brained shit-smears you're attempting to pass off as commentary.

If the site is making money, I compensate people for the work they do depending on the quality. If someone writes once or twice a month and it's quality material? I'll toss them some cash to buy comic books if that's what they are covering. Someone who writes weekly would get more. If you cover an MMORPG and write a few times a month, maybe I cover your sub or in game currency.

It really depends. If you want to be a daily writer/weekly writer then we have to talk in private about compensation.

It depends on the success of the site. If it blows up? People get paid, tech reviewers get some free hardware and everything is based on it's success. I'm a socialist like that.

edit:
Just for reference. The people who cover some news sites, that work 8 hours a day, and post articles all day long (10-20 per day) work from home and get paid like 25-35k a year. Some work in shifts throughout the day.

Sounds like Draegan is setting up a entertainment portal type site like ign. You have a main page with different channels set up for gaming, music, sports, etc. Anyways if you ever have wanted to get some experience writing for a news style website this sounds like a good chance even if you aren't getting paid for it. It's something you could put on your resume...
