HACKENSACK - A New Jersey Transit bus driver has been fired after he was caught on camera performing a sex act while he drove a bus filled with passengers through the Lincoln Tunnel.

The lewd act was recorded on a cell phone by a woman who turned over the video to NJ Transit police.

NJ Transit arrested the driver, 41-year-old George L. Simpson for risking injury or damage by removing his hands from the wheel. He's also accused of lewdness and reckless driving. Simpson turned himself in to authorities Friday evening.

Officials say the driver was immediately removed from service without pay because of "disturbing and grossly irresponsible conduct."

Attorney Patrick Metz, who represents the woman who recorded the video, says the Central Jersey librarian was commuting home to Manhattan at around 7:30 p.m. on June 24. She saw the bus driver untuck his shirt and begin to masturbate.

Metz says the woman had been riding this bus line for years without an incident and recorded the video in disbelief.

The woman says she recorded the video to make sure nothing like this ever happens again.

Simpson, of Newark, is charged with reckless endangerment, lewdness and risking widespread injury. His bail was set at $2,500.
The page has a video of its own, but I found a video that shows some of the footage for those of you who don't want to go to the story page.

It creeps in slowly in the dark of night, and once inside, it almost never goes away.

It's known as the Hum, a steady, droning sound that's heard in places as disparate as Taos, N.M.; Bristol, England; and Largs, Scotland.

But what causes the Hum, and why it only affects a small percentage of the population in certain areas, remain a mystery, despite a number of scientific investigations.

Reports started trickling in during the 1950s from people who had never heard anything unusual before; suddenly, they were bedeviled by an annoying, low-frequency humming, throbbing or rumbling sound.

The cases seem to have several factors in common: Generally, the Hum is only heard indoors, and it's louder at night than during the day. It's also more common in rural or suburban environments; reports of a hum are rare in urban areas, probably because of the steady background noise in crowded cities.

Only about 2 percent of the people living in any given Hum-prone area can hear the sound, and most of them are ages 55 to 70, according to a 2003 study by acoustical consultant Geoff Leventhall of Surrey, England.

Most of the people who hear the Hum (sometimes referred to as "hearers" or "hummers") describe the sound as similar to a diesel engine idling nearby. And the Hum has driven virtually every one of them to the point of despair.

"It's a kind of torture; sometimes, you just want to scream," retiree Katie Jacques of Leeds, England, told the BBC. Leeds is one of several places in Great Britain where the Hum has recently appeared.

ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) ? Police say a Beaver County woman may have thwarted a robbery, by running over a suspect with her car.

It happened in the 2100 block of McMinn Street in Aliquippa.

Aliquippa police say a witness saw Cameron White walking down a street carrying what appeared to be a sawed off shotgun.

She called police, but noticed that White was heading in the direction of a group of children.

Police say she feared White was going to shoot the children, so she ran over him with her car.

White was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe he was actually going to rob the Circle K mini-mart down the road and that she may have prevented the robbery.

They say White was carrying an airsoft pellet gun which had been sawed off to look like a shotgun, and the orange tip had been taken off.

The Beaver County District Attorney says they are not going to charge her with running White over.

"Sexual activities are very much a part of the player's character development. You can't run around having all the sex you want just like you can't run around killing everything all the time," Allen explains. "Players can progress through 10 levels of expertise to eventually have 16 sexual positions to choose from during an encounter. Players will be able to invite other players into their personal home or a game-provided room to engage in sexual activities. Or players can visit any one of the game-provided brothels to learn from an NPC and gain experience that way."
