normally i'd say pc is dominating but with DRAM prices going nuts i dunno anymore, maybe everyone is just poor

Divorce put me in a bind and I ended up buying a house in 2023 at 5.675% for me and my kids. I have no other debt and I invest a lot but fuck if it doesn’t feel tighter than it ever did before in spite of my “high” income. My 6 figure salary barely affords rent, food and car payment and I have no other debt and I dont spend or go anywhere.
People are suffering greatly right now, if salaries dont rise things are going to collapse and it looks like companies are too oblivious to see the writing on the wall or just dont care.
Mad shout out out to the global silicon company I work for handing me that 100 dollar bonus for hard work this year (not joking). They even sent it an in email telling me it was confidential and not to tell anyone.

My kids like Fortnite/Roblox and NBA/Madden games. I’m 100% PC at this point and I can’t see myself buying another console once they move out. This from a guy that has had probably every major (and some of the minor) console since Atari 2600.
My coworkers got their kids off roblox (they never let them do voice chat/text chat) due to the gambling / microtransaction addiction part. It became a problem to where they couldn't enjoy the game unless they were spending money because it is pay-to-win.
A lot of the YouTube “catch a predator” guys find their perps on Roblox.
I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't. Last black Friday there were deep sales on their game lineups, that didn't occur this past one either. Although for all I know that was retail stores shedding inventory more than a Microsoft thing. I think Microsoft has flat out given up on their console and the physical market. Was series x on sale at all this season? Walmart is showing $599 right now.
