Spencer retiring is one thing but Bond leaving on the same day seems more of a firing but being allowed to say "resign" kinda thing.

That's usually how upper/executive management is handled in major publicly traded companies - they probably get the option of taking a nice exit package in exchange for resigning behind closed doors, and then they "retire" or "seek opportunities elsewhere/focus on their family".

But to Goat's point, the current issues with the hardware/ram market + lackluster releases in recent memory + MS expanding their game division very rapidly and at great expense for less than great returns was a recipe for a shakeup. Granted they can't have much control of the RAM/hardware bullshit, but those later 2 and the shakeup in their games division will probably see MS taking a different approach.

I wanna laugh but I’m a capitalist and competition is always a good thing. Sadly it looks like Xbox is toast.
It's their own fault; demanding 30% return from the XBOX division, selling out the hardware, giving no one a reason to own an Xbox console, "everything's an Xbox"; from a great launch in 2003/4 to today, pure shortsighted corporate greed.

Don't worry xbros, the person that was in charge of the office AI slop promises no AI slop in video games, and something about monetization.

think xbox took the right time to shit the bed. if steam machine comes out this year it will probably cost over $1000. many places think ps6 won't release till after 2027.
I think people are overlooking this factor. If the Datacenter-fueled component-pocalypse is about to shake up the entire industry for years (in terms of delayed hardware, price increases on existing hardware that already capped out on sales, screwing with release timelines for any future games intended as showcases for future hardware, etc. etc. etc.), then if they were thinking about changing strategy / needed an earning reports patsy, they have extra incentive to do so now.

Didn’t Xbox have BioWare exclusively back in the day? I was a huge Xbox fanboy due to KOTOR and halo. Couldn’t afford a good pc then. Fable 1 too.

normally it would be hilarious that the new Xbox President is basically someone who has never played a video game until a month before taking the job, but at this point nothing can save Microsoft games so might as well give it a goldfish. Pretty sure in a year or two she'll be the hatchet woman who cuts 50% of staff, raises prices 50%, and parachutes out to run marketing at Pepsi or some other bullshit

i can't really complain, have had gamepass since launch, played dozens of great games with it including Expedition 33 and Forza horizon, and have paid a grand total of one penny for my sub.

Out of her list of 3 games, I suspect:

1) Halo because Microsoft
2) Valheim because someone said it was good and she went with that
3) As a kid she played goldeneye on N64 a few times at a friends house or watched a sibling play it or played with a sibling

#3 might be the most likely game she played. I’m sure if I asked my most anti-video game relative what their top games were, it would probably be Mario Kart on N64 and Excitebike on NES because I’m pretty sure those are the only games they ever played on console as a kid
