You guys ever drink powerade?

I like the flavor of the purple powerade but whenever I drink that stuff my piss smells just like it. Not sure what kind of flavoring they use but that shit can't be good for you. No other drinks do that. Gatorade, vitamin water, body armor. They all just don't taste as good.

proper hydration requires that you drink some liquid occasionally when you're thirsty, and thats it. the entire "hydration" industry is based on misinformation.

drinking soda is less gay cause at least you're openly drinking it for the taste in that case instead of a fictional "need"

Thread reminded me to buy a new salt thing. I got stomach cramps when running a bit ago so I started using some electrolye powder my wife bought and didn't like. I put a serving with 6oz of water and choke it down before a run. idk if it helps but I haven't had cramps since.

Depends on where I am. At home I drink mostly water. At work I use crystal light packets frequently because the water just don't taste as good. There's also a free gatorade truck that drives around where I work, so I wave that down when I see it, cause why not. Sometimes I decide to get a soda from the vending machine. If there's a choice in front of me, I love coconut water.

I don't think it matters too much unless you're making it weird, eg drinking absolutely nothing but soda or gatorade.

The only time I consider drinking Powerade or Gatorade is when I am sick. For whatever reason, I can tolerate the flavor better when I have a fever. If not sick, I always just drink water. I occasionally will have some rootbeer over ice.

I do like the glacier cherry gatorade but I prefer just water most of the time, although in the last six months I think I've spent at least a couple hundred on Spindrifts which are just sparkling water and actual juice for flavor.

Electrolyte capsules like the below work really well for me for work outs / bike rides / long days outside without needing anything like gatorade.

There's also a company called HRDWRK that has "unflavored" electrolyte mix for adding to water that I used to love because they were truly tasteless sans a slight citrus taste but they changed their formula I think and now they taste incredibly nasty to me, so I just take some in a pill form and it works the same way.

My wife drinks it sometimes. She buys it when its on sale for like 80c a bottle and stocks up. . When at home I drink tea. I brew up a huge pot of the shit and drink it all day with lemon. At work I also drink tea. I would drink coffee but the coffee they have there is fucking swill. But they have the bigelow teas of all sorts so I just drink those with ice. I dont do anything taxing enough other than walking and I dont really drink alcohol so I dont need electrolytes. I get plenty of "salts" from the food I eat, lol.

I like brewing my own ice tea and ice coffee but I always stock some sport drinks for grab n go. I know they aren't the best for you but they do have half the sugar of soda. I usually buy the light ones if they use stevia sweetener. If I can't find one with stevia I'll buy real sugar vs artificial sweetener.

Water sucks, it still reminds me of the huge football PVC water fountain during 2-a-day practices in August (90 - 100 degree days). Not to mention everything that came after that, from manual labor to hours of gym time.

Tea is life. With herbal tea flavors you can even modify the iced tea flavor. If 2 gallons of water takes 10 small black tea bags for 10 minutes to make plain iced tea, instead use 6 black tea bags and 2 flavored tea bags for 20 - 30 minutes, take out the 6 black tea bags, then leave the 2 flavored herbal tea bags in for another 30 to 40 minutes (1 hour total).

Apple cinnamon is probably the best, but raspberry and peach also do well. HEB has a cacao flavor that makes the tea taste similar hot chocolate, which is still surprisingly good cold (with Splenda).

Also, never forget that Brawndo's got what plants crave. It's got electrolights!

You guys are overthinking this and pissing away money. I keep salt packets that you get at fast food restaurants. Each salt packet is about 1/8 of a teaspoon of salt. Take one to three packets with water throughout the day as needed and eat a banana when you get home. That’s about all you need to do.

It literally doesnt matter. Whether you sit behind a desk or carry shingles. Drink liquid when you're thirsty, eat food salted to taste at meal times. Outside of extreme athletics, that is all anyone needs for healthy hydration. Evolution figured this out in the kidneys long before we were human.

But make sure to keep carrying your $80 water bottle around all day, chugging water til you piss clear, and apparently intentially eating salt in your case. You do you!
