Looks like the kind of game where lil' autismo explains you the rules and you get one or two turns in before losing 45 to 3.

This actually happened. The kid also didn't mention one rule, then used it to double the score and I immediately lost :p

(Yes it's boring, and I've already forgotten all of the rules)

It's about as complex as you'd expect from a game invented by sub saharan Africans. If you know how to count you cannot lose

My niece and her son were over and her son who is in the 8th or 9th grade had never heard of a short order cook. Never been super popular here but I've ate at places that had them numerous times.

in my area, the last diner with what i would consider a short order cook closed in the 90's. it wasn't whole train car, but they had cut the sections with the 4 window and made that the front walls with the door in the middle. it was located right next to the coal/train yard. in one way, it had a very worn charm, as it had been there since the 50's, but on the other it was a dump. in its heyday, bet it was very cool.

Yeah I would think for something like a place a short order cook would work needs a fair amount of foot traffic. They may still be popular up north or more urban areas. There is no foot traffic in the south for the most part. More likely to see a place that has special parking spots for dually trucks than to find someone actually walking more than the distance from the place and the car/truck they drove there.

Y'all don't consider Waffle House a short order cook place? I've been in a few short order places, and if there's a difference between them and waffle house, I can't remember what it is.

I agree. Any diner that still exists still has short order cooks. There are short order cooks all over the place. It's actually a stressful job.

I'm probably wrong, but to me it's not true short order cooking unless the waitresses holler out your order in code and you can watch them work the griddle.

In 2 months I get to eat off the old peoples menu.

Wait till the checkout person ask if you want a senior citizen discount. Yes please. In the crazy world we live in the same person that ask if you want a senior citizen discount will also have asked minutes before for ID to show you are old enough to buy alcohol.

So night of my 21st birthday my 2 roommates throw me a party. Big event is I'm going to buy a case of beer at Midnight since I'm legal. I take the beer to the checkout, chick doesn't ask. I call her on it and she says 'You're already drunk'.

I feel like I'm the old person now when it comes to tech.

Like I just noticed, when shutting down the TV for the night, I get up, aim the remote at the TV as if it was one of those ancient infra-red light remotes....they're all bluetooth now or whatever, works anywhere in the house.

The great thing about being old is that I can stop worrying about shit like bluetooth everything giving me cancer. I'm definitely going to die of something weight related before I get cancer.

The time between now and Mr. Plinkett's Phantom Menace review is as long as the time between Return of the Jedi and the Phantom Menace.

I had PRK eye surgery 12 years ago. Last week, overnight, my distance vision got blurry, and it's been that way ever since. I think I need to make my first eye appointment in ages.
